Are you sure the engine is flooding with fuel? Sounds a bit strange to me.

You know you are not supposed to press the fuel pedal when starting a 300 don't you?

Maybe it's flooding because of not enough battery power and you're just pumping loads of fuel through. Charge your battery and check the water level first!

The manual says when it's hard or impossible to start from cold check the following... but I wont go into detail... !!

1. Check battery. You need a lot of power to start the 300 engine!

2. Fuel pressure. Basically, get someone to crank the engine and pinch the fuel feed hose (from the fuel filter), can you feel the pressure. No=Fuel check pump and circuit (a whole section dedicated to this)... Hey, have you changed your fuel filter lately?

3. Check Air regulator and A.A.C valve. Fully press the pedal when starting and if it starts the car this area is your problem.

4. Check injectors! (this is done bye removing the crank angle and turning it... and making the injectors click with just the ignition on)

5. Check ignition spark

6. Check spark plugs

7. ECU connector etc

I have one question - do you have an auto?

I managed to find an adjustment on mine that made it seem like it had a flooded engine but I had adjusted the clutch cable adjustment too much - when I slacked it off a touch - it was fine again....

Just a thought...

I brought my 300 about a month ago, and I've got the same problem with cold starts. The man from the AA showed me how to get started (unplug the fuel pump fuse and turn the engine for about 10sec, then put the fuse back in and it should start first time!). I'm getting feed up and embarrassed with this cold starts so its going to SE for a fix. I'll let you know the outcome.
