Well after a full day removing the front end of the car I finaly got my new heater matrix in! :hyper:

And putting all the stuff I took off back into the car only took 5 min!!

Made a nice job of it too! Although might have got one or two things in the wrong place?

HOLY SHIT!!! Is this REALLY what you have to do to fit a new heater matrix?

looks o.k to me the ashtray is functioning, what else do you need

I can't even tell whats tools and whats car. How long to dismantle? How long to fit? and was it really 5 mins to put back? Does the dash come out in one or bit by bit, or do you just leave it dangling there?

Took just over an hour to take apart, have not started putting it back in propperly yet, just threw it all in the car as lost the light fo rthe day. And dash come out in one bit, its all the other bits that cause the mess!

nissangtr@fsmail.net ps HAPPY BIRTHDAY

that would be great

looks like my matrix is fubar too mate - out of interest how much did yours cost and where did you get it from ? Were you getting the same symptoms as me - water inside the car, occasional steam from under the bonnet - windscreen steaming up etc ?

Thanks for any advice

I was quoted $166.13 shipped by Courtesy - I quoted my TwinTurbo.net id number as I've been told it gets you discount.

Even with tax it's a lot less than getting one here. Do a search on Heater Matrix and you'll find posts confirming that th eUS one will fit if you use the UK pipes.

chopper, when my matrix went, I got a lot of "steam" inside the car and water in the footwell. The first indication was that I started to get a little bit a 'steam' on the windscreen. The water in the footwell followed a few days later, and when it started to leak, it was leaking a lot. Guess that this could differ from "matrix to matrix".

The "fog" usually started to build up after a few (maybe 5-10) minutes of driving when the engine start to get warm. You could sometimes start the car with no steam inside the windows, but after a few minutes it started to build up.
