Anyone tried these yet?

Just ordered a pair for the front, we'll see how they handle the damp icy roads in the weeks ahead.

Yep, think they've been available for a few months.

Meant to have better grip that the T1-S esp. in the wet.

Or so the blurb says.

We'll see. :)

They'd need to be - I've never been impressed with the T1-S in the wet. What value is the tread wear indicator, wondered whether they may be softer than the old ones ?

The tyres I had when I bought it, Bridgestone SO2s I think they were, werent as good as the Toyos in the wet. At least not not to my memory now. ;)

Only the last few mm's on the Toyos seem to be too hard, other than that, if they do start to slide, its always been a progressive one, not a sudden ohshitherewego kind of moment.

AndyP - what would you recommend as a good tyre?

Personally I'd prefer nearly bald S-03's against Toyos, but I guess it depends what type of feel you like. I like S-02's & S-03's, I hated my Toyos when I first drove them in the wet, now I guess I've got used to them sliding all over the place. Your driving style may vary, for a bit of level setting, I expect to get around 6-7,000 miles for a set of rears and I never smoke them, do donuts etc etc, but I do like to corner hard.

Any update on the T1-Rs mate?

Time to renew and I'm not sure whether to try the T1-Rs or go for some Bridgestones.

Cheers,

Any update on these tyres? I'm undecided on the toyo or eagle f1.

If its any help, from what ive heard they are a big improvement over the old Toyos.

I prefer Pirellis, but the Toyos work out around £30 cheaper each. (255/35/18)

They should be going on on the 29th Jan. Xmas made a huge hole in the pocket, let alone the Z fund!

:D I would be interested in the out come of this aswell ;) as i have Toyo T-1s 265/40/18's on the back and not had any major probs with them.

I was looking at prices if and when they need replacing and they aint cheap :( but hey neither is the Zed :D
