Waz just going through some old photos and spotted this one of my old peni$ extension Jag. She was a 4.0- very comfy and very quick- just a bit scary when you feel her start to slide at 90mph as I once found out! Wouldnt mind a V8 one day.

Anyone else a fan of the Vinny Jones machine? Send me your pics.

Yep, got to be the best value motor money can buy. £50k new- grand to buy now.

Bit like the zed- £35k new back then- get em now to £2k upwards.

I love these bargains- I could just never bring myself to pay £20k for some ford or Vauxhall boring mota that blends in on the motorway.

Give me 20k and I'll go straight out and get an old red Ferarri.

Mondeo or Mondial? No choice for me :D

I used to have a Daimler Sovereign Series III :D nothing like a 4.2L car when you are only 19

Nice 2 tone green, all the extras, you name it, it had it.

You can get at least 6 bodies in the boot of a jag :x:

I always kinda fancied a nice XJS - y'know with the 'wings' either side of the rear window.. Or maybe an XJ12..

Wouldn't say no if someone was going to give me a nice new XKR either, but we weren't really talking about those were we.. ;)

Bought this from a bloke in Romford for £300, it had been sitting on his drive for 2 years.

Well smooth to drive, bit juicy cos it was a 5.3 litre V12 but always wanted a jag from when i was young and am well glad i had this for a couple of years.

I used to have a series II XJ6 4.2

Dead nice car - 1974 N reg, Indigo blue with biscuit leather and loads of chrome. It looked like a bank robber's car from The Sweeney :D

Only cost me £75 to insure on a classic policy too - cheaper than a fill-up

I remember the day I got it, back in 1996. It cost me over £75 to fill both tanks for the long drive home and whilst cruising down the A1 at 80-ish the fuel guage needle dropped with each mile

Great car though - I only sold it last year so it was officially the car I've owned the longest ;)

Richard :smw:

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Mine, loved it to bits, but 100 sovs to fill both tanks and foot down drag stripping returned 3miles to the gallon.lol

had jags for years, and JUST sold me xjs cabriolet , as its been garaged all last winter and apart from a couple of days all the summer

as we all know jags are not the best in the british weather, but this one had NEVER seen rain, garaged all it's life and every winter, full service history, nice reg and absolutley mint, but i just couldnt justify having it parked up and never using, still enjoying me Z to much, 5.3 but no heavier on juice than the Z,

yep they're arsy, but what you would expect with half a ton under the bonnet

helps when you carry a heavy tool box and trolley jack in the boot,

im seriously thinking of buying an xk8 as i would never get another jag looked after like this one, so no point in going back

but deffo enjoyed my years of jag ownership, and don't intend driving a lookalike rover/bmw/mondeo:(

plus this was a one off guy salmon built, sad to see it go but driving the z soon gets me over that lol

When I was 19, I had a chauffer job and one day I had to take a couple of posh folk up to Wimbledon in this Daimler double 6. The guy I was working for was a right tossa. I was skint at the time and he gave me £20 for petrol to take these folk from Hungerford to Wimbledon, quick tour round London and then back to Hungerford. Started at 5AM and left London about 11pm.

On the way back going down the motorway, my precious cargo in the back asleep after their long day and I notice me tank is awfully low, so switch to reserve- that also is totally low. And mes thinking no cash- no credit cards, not gonna make it, so I was forced to wake these people up at Membury services and ask for money to buy fuel- I felt gutted and they wernt best pleased either as they were being charged £300 for the day. Needless to say, there was a right barny when I saw the tossa the next day. :mac1:

He was a right fly-by-night, another job I done was in one of his Rolls Royce's. I had to take some jap businessmen up to the airport in the Roller and the autobox was foooked and wouldnt change out of 2nd, so theres me going up the M4 doing about 70mph in 2nd thrashing the nuts out of this roller with the japs in the back muttering away! Total nightmare. Bet hes not in business now.
