Took the zed out of the garage this weekend and was puzzled to see a small pool of what looked like coolant underneath the car.. On further investigation, it sems to be coming from the rubber encased metal pipes to the right of the rad (facing the car) which are usually hidden by the fan shroud. I have circled the pipe (badly  ) in the attached pic - the leak seems to be where the metal band wraps around the pipe..

Am assuming from the online manual that it relates to the aircon system  but not 100% certain..

Any pointers appreciated as always!

It looked clear with a slight pink tinge. That's why I assumed it was coolant  Was deffo coming from this pipe with engine off and no fan running to blur the issue..

Steve what colour coolant have you used i.e blue, green or red ???

Ryan

Thats defo the Air con hose. as for the colour it can be loads, pink, blue, green are the main colour dies ii've seen used in an a/c system to show up leaks.

Having seen the picture, I would say that it was aircon too bud :(

LOL OK the reason I asked what colour it was is because its possible that it might not be coming from there , if the aircon is leaking the mess on the ground would be sticky and gooey if its like water then chances are its coming from somwhere else close by

Check the jubilee clips on the lower rad connection - I doubt the actual leak is coming from where you think it is as those lines are the refrigerant lines ;)

Andy, I tightened the lower rad clip yesterday but the drip seemed to be coming from somewhere above that.. Saying that, still no drips today so maybe that was it after all? Aircon seems to be working fine as well :)

I've just posted up about my oil leak as well :smw:

Many thanks for the feedback on this one guys

Are you sure it's not just come out of your Overflow pipe ???

  • 1 year later...

hey ugys, i have green liquid leaking form one of my pipes, it is behind the engine, almost by the winshield, there is rubber piping and it isnt fastened by anythign and you could tell that if there is pressure, it will ocme out and where it is connected it has liek a green ring aorund it as if its been coming out for a while, and likes its dried out and stuff, im guessing that would be the coolant? unless green liquids are used fore somehting esle?

help greatly appreciated
