Ok guys, please can you all list what would cause smoke on over run after booting it. Thats the only time it does it, after its booted and you remove your foot from the gas. however pressing the gas again slightly the smoke goes.

Just after a list of things to check at the weekend. I know i have a small boost leak, would this cause that?

Cheers guys,

Mathew

I guess no one knows then  wheres the Duffster when you need him :D

Foot off gas, engine sucking like mad, suck finds weakest point, throtles shut so that leaves, valve guides/seals, rings, breathers or in that earea maybe, foot on gas, suck can now suck through throtles etc takes presure off valves etc etc. sorry its a bit vague but seeing as no one else answered I thought I minght. But then I put boost jets in the wrong pipes so what do I know.

Trust exhast full of oil from the turbo rear seals, and fooked stock turbos

See!!! You knew the answer already ;)

Seriously though, barring stem seals (you'd get smoke on startup after its been stood), rings (both banks would smoke equally as the breathers would feed both banks with oil) and PVC valves (you did these recently?), it sounds like turbo seals tbh. Is the smoke blue? If it is then its going through the combustion chambers and getting burnt. If its more white, then there's oil getting in the hot exhaust - ie turbo rear seals. Oil only gives blue smoke if its burnt in the cylinders ;)

Please excuse me barging in, Andy, can you look at my post ref 200SX please, its my sons car and I suspect turbo seals. Your thoughts please

Thinking about it again, its more greyish then blue i think. will have a looksee at the weekend. If its Turbo seals then thats not too bad (have a secret fix for that that i'd like to try)

Just whip the downpipes off and check for oil then ;)

Okey dokey :hyper:

Turbo technics used to sell a kit which preserved your turbo seals even if you have a de-cat zorst on your car...

Not quite, Turbo Technics did a kit which ****ed your engine up by starving it of oil ;) All IMHO of course, although a bit of research showed this to be the case...

Good job I never got mine, really, wasn't it.. Ah well, someone had quite a few beers on me..

Thats probably why they stopped doing the kits, I reckon so.

hey mat,

yep i had this and turned out to be my pcv valves, be caerfull keep an eye on your oil level dont let it go too low if your burning it and starve your turbos of oil like i did expensive lesson!!

mike feeny mjp parts will hve a set for ya including the hoses 105 squids if i remember!!
