Just a quick one. Can anyone out there assist in telling me where the handbrake switch is on my Jap Auto. I've took the centre vent panel off then the gear lever surround panel off. I've got to that point. How much further do i have to go. All im trying to do, is fit a turbo timer in and put the hand brake wire on from the Apexi timer to the switch. A 10 min job is turning into 10 hours (again :mad: )

Theres a wire to go to the switch. I think the reason for this is so the timer can sense if you have the handbrake on or off. Must be some sort of inhibitor on the timer. All its doing is sensing the 12v supply to the handbrake light on your dash. I just cannot see any wire for the handbrake switch anywere. Suppose i could take it to the back of the bulb but thats more dismantling for one fookin wire :mad:

When I did mine, I had to take the armrest / cigarette storage box thing off and found the wire to splice into at the rear of the handbrake. Far too much trim removal by far!

The Handbrake wire is meant as a safty device to stop someone driving off in your pride and joy when you walk off with it still running. Its not very effective though coz you can still drive off with your handbrake on a couple of notches :(

 

It handy if you dont need the timer on, you can just park it without using the handbrake (auto) and the engine switches off after a short delay.
