Hi guys!

I'm about to place an order with Courtesy Nissan for a complete set of NGK PFR6B-11B sparkies ($51 + shipping, VAT, etc). However, I remember seeing several posts a while back that mentioned the coil connectors breaking when replacing the spark plugs. Courtesy sells the coil connector harnass ($52 + the usual) and I was wondering if this is what I need to order. On their website it states that it comes in a pack of four - I would have thought that a Zed needs 6 coil connectors confused.gif. Can someone please confirm that this is the part that I need or if this is a waste of my money.

Thanks for your advice.

Cheers!

i think it is a repair kit if im not mistaken. so you would need to get two.

i might be wrong but that is how i understood it.

Yes, it's a repair kit. It is actually an injector harness off another car (US Pulsar I think, *NOT* UK/Jap Pulsar, this has standard distributor & plugs). You have to cut the connectors off this loom, and then cut your connectors off and splice these on.

Yes, they have four connectors, because the Pulsar is a 4-cyl engine, and yes, you'll need two, but yes, that is the right part..

Thanks guys! One last question: is it absolutely necessary for me to purchase this repair kit when changing the spark plugs? $110 for the complete kit is a bit dear, especially now that cash is kind of tight.

Take it eaZy!

Not at all Danny - only if the connectors look like they've been run over by a bus....

Tried Luke a week or so ago but he only sells the UK version of the NGK plugs (i.e., -11 and not the slightly longer -11B plugs). I'm having some problems (as most of you are aware) with pinking and have been told that the longer plugs may solve the problem to some degree. Willing to give it a try and it only costs $51 (£35) for a set of 6 (= a lot cheaper than UK plugs over here!) Thanks for the offer though!

Hmmmmmm - what to do now? .... I don't know what crappy plugs I'm running now (Jap ones I would expect) but anything is probably better than them. Will give the -11B's a try and if that fails I'll try Luke's -11C's. Thanks for your comments.
