My Jap import '90 TT has a dash switch for what I assumed was spotlights but when I switched it on only the sidelights came on.At the front the 2 outer light clusters have had the bulbs removed and the wiring cut.The 2 inner clusters contain the indicators and sidelights. Can anyone shed any light....

do you have a separate switch for your rear fog lights? possibly had the front spots removed and the switch is now used for the rear fogs (MOT says must be a separate illuminated switch). Mine is a bit like this but the switch does both the rear fogs and the front spots which is an MOT failure, i just have to remember to remove the relay/fuse for the front spots at MOT time! :D

Thanks for that,I'll check tonight.

should be the inner lights along with the sidelights. I'd say your relay is stuck/broken, fetch it out and give it a good knock and see if it works, happens to me all the time you press the button and only the sidelights come on.

Mine's been like that for the last 5 MOTs (or possibly 6) and it's passed with no problems. ;)
