Thinking of getting new set of wheels for the Z and wondered whats the largest width of tyre/wheel that will fit without wide rear arches.

More traction egore !!

I'm sure everyone will say just get wide arches, but my money doesnt stretch that far at mo.

Cheers

I use to run 275s with no problem no standard arches. I know some have run 285s but I can't comment as to whether they had any problems.

Remember, the wider you go, dont mean you'll have better grip, it can cause aquaplaning problems in the wet!! But in the summer.........................

Well said Shunter.

When I had the 275s, They were brill for take off both in the wet and dry. However, keeping control of the car whilst in a broadside was much easier with 245s.

Swings and roundabouts really.

So 0-60 runs and traffic light dashes will be better with wider rears.

But I'm suprised to hear that it's easier to recover from slides with thinner tyres ? was this just in the wet ?

Im running 265's mate, no rubbing, good fun in the wet kicks back in as soon as you shut off

On my old 10" rear's I was running 275 no problem. IIRC I had 285's on for a while and they were fine..............fat and fine!

i'm running 315/25/19 on rears no problems

i'm running 315/25/19 on rears no problems
