Well been in court as they said the blank gun was prohibited cos it can disscharge noxius liquid or gases. :confused:

 

The judge was a big gun nut and when he heared the charge said "but blank guns are fine to own??"

 

After being adjourned for two hours was called back to be given a £452 fine and a criminal record.

 

So if anyone out there owns any blank guns, bin them cos even over the counter ones the police/government/courts like to make a big thing of it to make it look like they are tackling gun crime. :xxx:

you have to appeal this mate, a fine is one thing but a criminal record is complete *****cks.

WTF!!?!? Same sort of thing applies to the legal profession apparently. Since when has a blank gun fired anything out?

yeah thats a point, I thought they had a sealed barrel on most blank guns.

This is nonsense!! If you had a solicitor he wants disbaring. Get yourself a real good Lawyer and appeal. + Get him to appeoach your first Lawyer and tell him your going to sue him for professional negligence. He'll make you an out of court offer rather than get himself dragged before the bar.

 

Sh1t like this really pi55es me off. There are real criminals out there, but catching them means hard work. :mad:

sorry to hear this bud i got 1yr probation £200 fine for discharging a bb gun in my back garden which a someone reported it was totaly harmless but hey thats the rules :confused:

About 10 years ago I tok a blank firer into a bank.

I had it hidden in my trousers.

 

Why? I was going to take £3000 out to buy a motorbike and I had recently working by myself in an off-licence which was held up so I was nervous.

 

As I was leaving the bank the blank firer almost fell out of my trousers and someone saw it. I didn't know but they took my car reg and a few days later at 6am loads of police with guns and dogs turned up at my house (I was living with my folks and they weren't impressed).

 

I explained to the police and they admitted I hadn't done anything wrong and left. I still have all the search warrants etc they bought with them.

 

I can't believe they did you for this? Has the law changed?

Yeah they did that to the purely medicinal plants I was growing in my loft along with several hundred squids worth of lighting and ventilation equipment, the buggers... :(

Same thing happened to me however i was in Pentoville prison for a week. Before they gave me bail. It was a Beretta Blank Firer. I had it in my car, was keeping it there for peace of mind.. Well there was lots of car jackings going on, you never know....

 

However in the old bailey I was aquitted it was held

 

"That to own a blank firer is not in itself illegal" however to have it in public place can constitute an offence... it is illegal to own or pocess an imitiation firearm for illegal purposes" however "SELF DEFENCE" is not an "Illegal purpose" ......

 

So luckily I was acquitted of all charges but I went throught a hell of a court case...

However i must point out that i was a law student in my final year of my LLB law degree with a clean slate....

 

 

Cant see why they would convict you if you did not threaten or use it illegaly.

 

I would appeal and get a good solicitor ...
