to register, you need a unique email address, that is all.

 

it is very easy to make up an email address, or go and register with hotmail or yahoo, or the many other hundreds of email account providers.

 

so making sure they can receive email is still no reliable check.

 

if people want to hide behind aliases because they do not have the guts to say stuff in person, then thats their problem.

 

if they want an alias purely for it's humour value, then take it from me, it's only funny for the first 5 minutes...

 

if i investigate the "proper club with subscriptions" route that a lot of other car clubs have gone down, then i can try and reduce this type of thing, but i like to rely on the common sense of people....
