I posted an eBay link about a cheap A'PEXi kit I found and it got 'removed'..

....erm, why is that?

(just curious as I thought I was doing someone who might be looking for one a favour!!!)

:(

Surely I'm not being singled out as a trouble maker...... :slap: :D

looks like you cant recommend anything or link to it if it's not a bonafide 300zx trader :(

Everyone together 'Sieg...' ;)

On the flip side tho' there are traders that abuse that by creating fake registrations and pretending to be independant. :(

There should be an exception tho' when a recommendation/heads up is made by a subscribed member

In fairness, if Mac has edited your post he always puts up a reason. So i dont think it was moved for that reason

Not guilty!!

Ive just looked and its not been moved!!??

Might be an alien :)

Not guilty !

Just did a search and no sign of it. Sure it got posted properly and it wasn't a forum/browser glitch ?

Incidentally, can't see any reason why an eBay link would be deleted.

1 isn't going to hurt!!

Just thought it was a bargain at roughly £46 all in delivered to your door!

I know for sure I posted it, and no reason was given for the deletion of it.......only trying to help someone get top quality induction kit for less than half the usual price.

Oh well.....

Fair play Matty - I ordered one last night ;) I can only presume it's been removed because it conflicts with our traders. Seems a little unfair though as it was a bargain.

As much as the traders bring us great deals etc, the site is for its MEMBERS, and a post directing them to a good deal, IMHO, should not be deleted. I can't help but think we are becoming a bit anal about this.

If its got to the situation where we are expected to pay more for something through a trader than is available elsewhere then we have lost the whole point of this forum. We all obviously want things as cheap as possible, I think the problem lies with the committee thinking they "owe" the traders something seeing as they've paid to become a trader. They "owe" it to them to protect them from other people selling the same kind of stuff........where as the regular members, the CORE of the forum, owe them nothing. There lies the conflict imo.

I know its a difficult line and Mac, undoubtedly has done a fantastic job with getting the traders together. It really looks professional now. Its also nothing personal against the traders. I consider Smithy a friend and also Chris and Danny. Paul especially, was really impressed with his reply on the s/steel laser etching thread.

Traders, Group Buys and Combined Orders

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

One of the stated aims for the 300ZX.CO.UK Club since it was started in 2003 has been to get as many subscribed traders as possible to participate with the club so we can get benefits for both the club and our subscribed members. We now have fourteen selected traders each supplying a broad range of goods and services through the Club’s forum at competitive prices. These traders support the club financially and are well known and respected in the Japanese car community. The Club takes care to ensure that traders act responsibly to give the best service to our members at all times. This setup is in contrast to the approach other clubs have tried with ad-hoc and free for all trading which has resulted in trading wars and poor customer service.

By definition the traders on the forum are commercial organizations who are running their businesses for a profit. This means that the prices they charge reflect this. In return members can use businesses operating under UK consumer laws and protection.

It is entirely possible for members to buy goods directly from suppliers based overseas. In some cases these can be at a lower price (shipping and duties included) than a Club trader can supply. However these goods often have guarantees which do not apply in the UK and payments, queries, complaints and faulty goods must be directed at overseas businesses outside UK jurisdiction.

In order to give the subscribed traders on the forum the opportunity to supply the committee has introduced the following policies for Group Buys and Combined Orders:

Group Buys - Members wanting to conduct group buys on the Club’s forum on a “not for profit” basis must first get approval from the TLO before the GB goes ahead. The TLO will make sure that GB items(s) cannot be supplied by one of the subscribed traders at a fair price and timeframe. The TLO's decision in the matter is final. Group Buys are defined as single item types/multiple buyers.

Combined Orders – Members wanting to conduct combined orders on the Club’s forum on a “not for profit” basis must keep the total number of members participating to 5 or less. Combined orders will be moderated if this policy is abused. Combined orders are defined as different item types/multiple buyers sharing shipping costs.

In both cases Members are reminded of the club's AUP and in particular:

"300ZX.CO.UK accepts no responsibility for any transaction that occurs as a direct or indirect result of an advert placed on this forum. 300ZX.CO.UK cannot and will not vouch for any goods or services sold or purchased.

Private Sellers must ensure that their advertisements contains accurate and up-to-date information. No funds will be passed through 300ZX.CO.UK and 300ZX.CO.UK cannot accept any liability for missing or non-receipt of funds. It is the seller’s responsibility to check the money before releasing the goods"

James if you want all the traders removed from this board then start a petition and get it sorted, as it wont work both ways by putting up cheap e-bay links.whatever you think is anal that is up to you read the above post and try to understand what we have here at this club.

The traders are here for all to use, they are trustworthy and will supply you parts without robbing you like a hand full of members on here have done eg

you pay for your parts and they f*ck off with your money and never reply to your PMs or email (very nice people eh?) Now one thing I can vouch for our traders on here won't do that to you FACT!

They are here if you want to use them, however you are free to buy your parts where ever you want, the net is full of bargains and some are way cheaper than our traders can supply them.

But at the end of the day beware of tossers that will steal your money, anyone hear about the E-bay scampster and how many KKKKKKKKKKKs he made out of people that thought they were getting a good deal?

A club is all about trust and not just cheap bargains IMHO

Oh and just for the record I did not remove the link,as usual everyone is ready to moan and point the finger, when it could have been a glitch like Andy said.

Not just ebay matey ask Kirbz about how he was nearly done for 3.5k :(

I didn't for one second suggest, or would want all traders removed. That is ridiculous.

And I know all too well, the pitfalls of dealing with traders that can't be trusted.

Last point, I don't moan often, but if I do, then that is my right.

Once again, not a personal issue.

Hope you did not lose too much

I did say that James

Once again, not a personal issue.

not worried either way TBH

a good post by Matty all he was trying to do was be helpful:)

BUT i can see the other side, ie backdoor trading, its a hard one to call

a newly regged member could point people to ebay for their own auctions, or a mates, ive seen members pointing people to their cars or bits which is quite acceptable, but say Chris has stuff to sell on ebay then he should be able to use this forum as a meduim to tell people its there, because he's paid for that right (sorry to use your name in vain Chris lol but could be any trader)

i THINK if i was a trader i would be a bit pissed if i had paid to sell on here

and someone is getting free advertising, as i said Matty has obviously done it with the best intentions;)

im sure im not the only one who regularly checks out ebay for Z stuff, it's not hard to find, so then members have the choice of where they buy

i may be talking complete *****cks, IT HAS BEEN KNOWN

Yeah I agree - that sort of stuff should be kept in the bedroom

If only you'd kept to that. Then you wouldn't have the court case looming.

Well............you'd know all about that !! LOL.

"Send him down"..............Offence: Public Anal Intrusion.

......don't post any helpful links.....keep them to yourself....note>

Matty.

Just on a side note from the "what's happened bit" those filters are quite good value for money, however they are universal and if you want to fit em to a Zed's MAF they do not fit without having a double sided adapter plate being made up.

i was doing some induction kits for a few Honda guys and purchased some of these from the same guy in the link, i made up adapter plates for em but at the same time checked how close they were to the Zed's bolt pattern, it's way off....

I think he may do adapter plates as a seperate purchase which makes the cost even more, plus on the last 2 i bought of him i was hit for import duties a month later so it actually made them MORE expensive than a vehicle specific one.

Just a little note worth considering when spotting a bargain on Ebay :)

cheers

smithy

See there was no reason to get rid of the orignal thread in the first place......

......there crap anyway!!!!

....maybe if it was rebadged as a warning thread....... :D

;)
