Just a quick one to warn other people. I have learnt the hard way.

A while ago, I found a guy on ebay doing a good deal on KYB shocks. I posted up if anyone else wanted any and a few guys did. I went to the guy with the amount I wanted and he gave a discount over the single priced item on ebay. Now, ebay is set up for buying one item at a time, so when I needed more than one the seller gave me his Paypal address and I sent the money. This was still via his ebay shop. Obviously buying multiples through "buy it now" (1 at a time) wouldn't of taken into account the discount he was giving me for buying a few sets. That was back at the start of August and it seems quite clear by now that this guy has ripped me off. No reply to emails, no goods, nothing.

So I go to Paypal first and get no joy as the transaction date is over 30 days old. I argue that as they were coming from the States that 30 days isn't long enough to realise you've been conned. The reply was to log a complaint on the 29th day and then cancel it if the goods do arrive, ...wtf?

Next onto ebay. No joy there either. The transaction "strictly speaking" wasn't through ebay and they have no responsibilty. And to cap it off, I have no way of leaving negative feedback. The "ebay" shop, in case you were wondering is "Power Garage". So def steer clear if you come across it.

I have sent an email to ebay asking for contact details, explaining the circumstances as to why they are being asked. So see how I go there.

This bloke is well overdue for a slap and what I wouldn't do to find his address.

My bank, HSBC are on the case now as I used their credit card.

So just a warning about the small print if something does go wrong.

Man, sorry to hear about this, I would be absolutely fuming. There really should be more security and Laws to stop people being ripped off on the net by T055ERS like that.

Thanks guys and cheers Chris. Will catch up one evening this week hopefully then.

Mate- i got nailed on ebay for the same thing a while back - with a company called Makoto Autotrends - eventually got the product i was after but it took 2 months to get it - and about 8 calls to america, a fraud complaint to my bank ebay and bidpay. Made me realise that ebay is rife with no mark theives.

Sorry top hear about this - i hope your not too out of pocket

I bought some in December 03, took a bit of prompting to get them sent. Took about 6 weeks to arrive. But I do have the address from the shipping ticket.

Good Luck

My dad was selling a telescope on ebay and had a few people interested. The person who bought it in the end won a bid on another telescope and as he was about to pay he received an email from the Midlands Police saying that the item has been taken off ebay due to fraud.

Whether the email was genuine or the person send it because he didnt want to see the item is another matter.

Sorry to hear your bad news, I would have thought the mere fact that you paid by credit card was your saviour. I`m not sure that because you bought from America it`s different, i would have thought not, anyway if you dispute the transaction then the vendor has to supply information re the sale, inc proof of delivery, he hasn`t got that. I`ve done this once before, and it worked, write to your credit card company and inform them that under Section 75 of the consumer credit act, you have not received the goods, therefore you require a full refund. By law they have to do this, subject to investigation, as I said I did it and got a refund of £1500, any other details wanted pm me.
