Bloody auto has lost 3rd and 4th on the way home form work today. First and second are fine but just wont change up after that. Auto oil is nice and clear so no burning.

 

Done a search and a few ideas but no results. Anyone had the same and found a cure?

Yes thanks mate, had a read though that. Gonna try dumping the auto box oil and refilling see if it helps. Did auto diag and got all clear. retet ECU no joy. went for a drive and is reluctant to go into second now unless i hold the revs high for a bit and slowly ease off then it changes. Fingers crossed for change of oil will sort it.

Stab in the dark but do you have a speed convertor for the speedo? If so try temporarily bridging it out and see if that makes any difference...

Yes it is contertved, will be replacing the solenoids first to see if its them, new oil has helped first and second gear change but still no 3rd/4th.

Bridging it out is only a 10 minute job tho. Top off guage cluster, find unit, rejoin original wires, take for a drive :) It may well not be that but its worth trying the easier stuff first IMO

Right tried everything, and still no 3rd or 4th. droped pan and cleaned filter, took out converter, new oil. still the same.

Doesnt resetting the ECU help out sometimes?

Hate to say it but sounds like yer box is just about to say goodnight!! I see your on Canvey , have you tried Scott at Redline Imports in Southend (01702511100) he tends to have a rebuilt auto box ready for fitting, if not he can rebuild yours ?
