I've been getting on, no problem...

 

A lot has been happening since I had the engine in the kitchen.

That was 2,5 years ago. Last winter I've been working on the suspension.

 

Actually, I've never made the engine to run sattisfactionary, until recently.

There were always problems with torque/misfire at high revs.

The main problems were the fuel pump and bad X-pipe design in the exhaust.

Changing back from the HKS iridium plugs to the longer NGKs helped also.

 

The next step now is to fine tune the A/F ration.

I'll be getting a wideband O2-sensor for that purpose.

 

Level 10's Shiftronic system for the tranny is also tempting me...

 

There is one problem though...work...

Bad times for consultants now.

May have to work abroad.

Anybody heard of a HW/SW designer assignment available?

Well, that must either be fake or have a REALLY good cooling system. Look @ the temp guage, less than half way up! If ur doing that speed u aint gonna be running cool.

Most Jap car temp gauges always sit in the same place, around the middle no matter what you're doing! I used to sit in Birmingham for hours in slow moving traffic in my Supra and the temp gauge never used to move at all...always in the middle. Merc does, goes up to a set point and sits there, occasionally dropping if the fan cuts in! Same as my Mrs. Cavalier she once had.

 

My Bro had a Honda Prelude and surprise, surprise his temp gauge used to do exactly the same. It is good with Jap cars though, coz trust me, if the gauge had ever moved upwards on my Soup I would have known something was wrong straight away.

 

Oh and by the way, 150 mph sustained in my Supra in the height of summer on a A55 racing a bimmer and gauge never moved upwards at all!!!

 

Also, take into account how much air cooling everything is getting at that speed, and he is in Sweden geeZer where it gets fucking freezing!!!

 

 

well, the other genuine 175mph clock shot shows the temp at about 3/4. I am aware that generally the temp is pretty stable on jap cars, due to the f*cking huge viscous coupled fan, beats the shit out of any leccy fan which pumps bollocks all air and most of the time doesnt even work cos the thermostat is knackered.

i have sustained 145/150 for about 30 mins and the needle never went past half way...

 

but give me 45 mins in london at 1mph and the needle soon moves

Buy British - it's much more fun

 

My needle fluctuates between 60 degrees C to 95 degrees C depending on whether on motorway / in traffic / hot day / cold day - or going round Trax - then it hits about 97 !
