Any one have a link to this, my PC is shutting down after connecting to internet. Same prob last year until I downloaded the XP patch, some one from this site gave me the address.

 

Just rebuilt the PC so now looking for link again

Get a firewall and a virus checker.

 

Its either the MSBlaster, Sasser or Korgo virus.

I fixed mine by running Adaware from http://www.download.com

 

The fun part was trying to sort it in the 60 odd seconds you get before it re-boots!!

 

So you have to let Adaware find a few things in under the minute, stop it, then delete the shite quickly. And then repeat again until its clean. All good fun!

you can type shutdown -a into a dos prompt to stop your computer shutting down automatically.

DONT install WINXP SP2 if u run loads of thrid party software, fVckin thing is a nightmare! You have to end up reinstalling everything and your still not guaranteed for it to work! Even Microsoft can believe how sh1t it is!
