Was driving home tonight in my mitsi, long and boring drive down from Northampton.

Hit my local roads, over took a vauxhall and toed it away, with the vauhall in chase. Went through the twistys (a mile long road totally clear bar me and the vauxhall) and slowed down for the residential bit, after about another 3/4 mile the vauxhall turns on the flashing blues and pulls me.ffs

I am being reported for dangerous driving to the CPS, seems the copper thinks I endagered him and his colleagues life by "forcing " them to pursue me. And I never even noticed the tow rope...

My thoughts are this...if my driving was so dangerous, why did they pursue me and thus endanger themselves? and why didnt they stop me?

W@nkers.

Ohhhh,P!ss poor luck bud.You could always say they didn't declare themselfs as coppers and you didn't know who was chasing you-fearing for your life, you

fooked off!![might work :x: ]

:nono: Sorry to hear you got a tug Jock was it on the A22 ?

Now thats a bummer...

Sorry to hear mate, got busted by an undercover car myself this year to! they aint playing fair anymore :(

Really unfair....

What evidence do they have that you were driving dangerously?

Nothing wrong with overtaking, unless you were driving seriously over the speed limit. Plus you did slow for the residential area.

They sound like a couple of C * N T S.

I'd write to the cop in charge at their station in complaint about their behaviour, stating the circumstances of your pull.

Good luck mate

Richard

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

I got pulled today by a m/c cop in Droitwhich all he said was i was going a bit fast and i ought to change my exhaust as its noisy he didnt even give me a producer thoroughly decent for a copper i thought especially as he was on a bike ( normally hate biker cops ) :x:

The quoted the fact that I was allegedly doing twice the speed limit and forced them to chase me for the dangerous bit.

Yes Carp was the caterham bends, like I would do 100mph thru there

I got away with something similar to this once. I was chased by two people on my way back from London at about 1am on a week night. They were driving right up my arse and we were doing over 60 in a 30 zone. We stopped at a red light and the bloke drove in front of me and blocked the road. He then jumped out with what looked like a baseball bat and ran at my car. I slammed it into reverse and managed to get away, but in my haste I slid sideways into a roundabout and fvcked up my rear wheel. Got home (only 5 mins away) and was suddenly confronted by 2 x area cars and a van all with blues and 2s on. Turned out it had been 2 coppers on their way to work in Croydon

The coppers had never identified themselves and I was pretty pissed off with them. The senior officer let me off (after the breathalyser showed all clear) when I complained of the "intimidatory driving" of his colleagues. Still cost me about £220 for a replacement wheel

Not the same scenario obviously, but the "intimidatory driving" angle may be an option...

where's Traffic Cop when u need him/her?

bad luck Hugh, hope u can find a way out

Damnit Hugh, that is pure bad luck. I can't think of any advice for you at the moment, but something 'aint right somewhere...........

Take care bud.

Robert.

Sorry bud, no way out of this one:( Just hope you dont loose ya license.

Unfortunetly if they had to give chase on twisty bends and roads they do class that as you driving dangerously, or without due care and attention:(

bummer :( hope they dont give you too much greif. may be worth getting some legal advise, i think dangerous driving may be hard to prove TBH.

Did you admit anything and did they have video evidence? If not fight it by solicitor. Without video evidence they will be hard pushed to claim dangerous driving.

Had a chat about this today, the strange thing is they didnt give me a producer, didnt ask me to sign anything, didnt quote vascar or the video game thing and the two guys were all flack jacketed with batons, spray and cuffs which makes me think it was an un-marked area car, rather than an un-marked traffic car. I didnt admit to any speed, and argued their contention, yet they didnt make notes of the conversation (which I thought they had to) well confused but planning for the worst

Thought it might have been Jock noticed over last couple of weeks loads of traffic gestapo about.Out of curiousity what colour and model was the vauxhall was the gestapo using Jock ?.

Summat' dodgey there Jock buddy. There must be some way of getting out of this one if they have no recorded speed or photo evidence. Any Tom, dick or Harry can say you were driving dangerously. What is dangerous ?? Did they swerve........no, did they have to brake hard.........no, so what is dangerous? The only reason is; is that they had to 'so called' chase you and to catch you when you were...errr...slowing down ( like a non dangerous driver would!!) for a residentual area. Fight it buddy!! they deserve it!!

(plus i've just been caught speeding, Fookin ar#eholes!!)

Cheers Bud will keep my eyes open for it wish you luck Jock as you wasnt issued a producer hope the tug was a frightener rather than a nick mate.

Hi Jock

This could just be a frightener, did they take your name and address etc?

Were you formally cautioned or did they just say they were going to report you?

Don't they have to warn you that any evidence will be passed on to the prosecution dept. to consider whether you will be charged?

Also I would have thought in these circumstances you would have been breathalysed too - sounds like they weren't from traffic at all.

Good luck mate

Richard

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

don't worry about any they cant do anything you didnt sign nothing nor video evidence. they just trying to scare you abit. I got done by undercoverz early this year and ( thought some guys where trying to race me in there bimmer) so i took them in my mr2 turbo at abt 110-120mph on the A1 then they flashed there light behind me to pull overn i thought thats it im finished as i had a recorded previous ban on my licence for speeding. he noted my name and my driving licence number. but nothing without evidence. Never sign nothing as you dont have too. once you signed it, it basically means you admitted it.

Just spoken to the mrs...if you didnt get a HOR/T1 form to produce your Docs or a NIP, they must of given you a verble warning that they where going to report you?

If this is the case then all they have to do is write there statements and send them to the CPS, then this will follow with a summons.

Or they have let you off with just a scare.......Hope it is this one...;)

As you said mate, they warned me that they would report me to the cps. But I was under the impression that they had to make a record of the conversation??? will just have to wait and see what happens.

must be handy to have permanent legal advice at home! :) my missus buggers off to "police academy" in three weeks, sixteen weeks of takeaway curries and farting at will! Is your missus in traffic? mine is keen to do public order, beating up drunk people is clearly a fetish of hers...

Make sure you stay on the right side of the law and keep her cobwebs well dusted between the sheets....or else. :D
