I think the only guy in the UK to have done this is Mark (Topless) but he may have only done it cos the NA in question is a convertable :)

Vijay

have a look in the rides section . lymon seems to have done it

wheres that i cannot find it lol

my mistake , must be too close to the faq bit. and can only be seen once ,when the moon is blue :x: :x:

I LOVE MY NA. Well, actually, when I first got mine I thought the same thing that I'd made a mistake and I wondered if the engine could be switched over. Then you find out,

I think the general opinion is it's less hassle to sell the NA and buy a TT
.

Mine is low miles too and like you say, you know its quirks- I think I'd feel I'd betrayed my car if I went and got a TT, but I always toy with the idea. Ideally I'd like an NA AND a TT, but only rich or greedy people have both! So I've got an NA and a Clio instead...

Easier and cheaper to buy a TT!!

But you can get an NA to TT BHP, relatively easily and cheaply, it could also be a bit more reliable and without any lag!

...seems like if you live in America anything is possible... That reads like it's not too hard. Until you try and do it? I think there would have to be a big sense of satisfaction getting an NA to a TT and it working well, but it's got to be cheaper to sell up and get a TT. Depends how much you like the car you drive.

Through interest..... how could you do that? Re-map, pipe and filter?

No :) .... I've had that done and mine is about 230 at the flywheel. My next mod is brakes (obviously no power gain but maybe better handling), then maybe lightened flywheel. New headers might be another way towards this but I think would be expensive and only give a few more bhp. I don't know what would be the best way to get more than that. Could you really get close to 280? Won't there be a point you have to stop because of reliability? If you get to messing with major engine internals, wouldn't it be better transplanting the engine?

Saw some nice manifolds on ebay that were quite cheap, there area few NA maps knocking about, underdrive pulley, lightened flywheel!
