Rear Wheel Steering. Never exceeds + or - 1 degree. Helps medium to high speed cornering. Does not work at low speeds. Wont help you park.

Try this http://www.ttzd.com/tech/hicastech.html

Check fluid level.

Check steering wheel is on the correct spline and not slightly out of line (or the Hicas thinks you are steering slightly to the left/right all the time and shuts off).

Jack the rear of your car up so both wheels are of the ground. grab the wheel and see if it moves left to right. If there is play then you made need to replace the hicas links or bushes. About £60 from nissan in the Uk.

About $40 from courtesy in the states

Waylander, when am I gonna get see you motor then?

As Glen said, most likely cause is the steering wheel not being centred correctly. Another but less likely explanation considering the circumstances is the fluid level but doubt that. I had the same problem on mine when I had taken the steering wheel off and had put it back one spline off centre.
