Track day @ Kemble

Just had an email in from easytrack.co.uk, about a Beginner's Track Day, seems very well priced:

1) Beginners Day at Kemble (in support of The Great Ormond Street

Children’s Hospital Beaujolais Charity Challenge) Saturday 10th November,

Kemble Airfield.

If you have never done a track day before this is the ideal opportunity, in an inexpensive way, to come and see what it is all about !!

If you book into this event you need to be a beginner, and you will receive for the laughable sum of just forty quid a session with an instructor and 4 solo sessions on the track at Kemble Airfield Nr Cirencester, Glos.

You will also get to meet plenty of regular easytrack members, get to hear a few hero stories and enjoy passenger rides in a range of auto-exotica, including Ferrari, Porsche and Caterhams.

£40 for a session with instructor then 4 solo sessions - not bad smile.gif

Might give it a go as I haven't taken the 300 on track only the old Elise.

2.5 Miles and a couple of nice long straights:

Hey, at Trax I was just keeping in formation smile.gif

Lets not tempt fate and start mentioning penalties before we even get there biggrin.gif Before the WTC disaster, I think the Southern Trax boyZ were the most wanted people on earth. Certainly wouldn't have been 3 points for that stuff, more like 25 years and I don't think I could handle being locked up in a small space with Warren for more than 2 hours, LMAO.

Well it looks like I'm a complete Tw@t then biggrin.gif

Thank you for informing me of this - with warren being a complete Nob then we should get on RATHER well wink.gif LMFAO

CheerZ,

Andy the Tw@t

There seems to be a slight hickup with the http://www.easytrack.co.uk server and the Kemble Beginner's day is showing as 60 places available, if you're quick you might sneak in a booking biggrin.gif

Worth a try if you missed out yesterday.

perhaps for those who missed out we could attend on the 9th and stay overnight for the people attending on the 10th (won't be much for a B&B) and can tell the missus I'm taking her away for the night!!!

Guess I'll probabally be the only 300zx Auto at the track day. I contacted easytrack to see what tuition etc was going to be on offer, the following is the reply:

Hi Tim

We have a mixture of levels of ability at all of our track days so you wouldn't feel out of place at any of our Kemble Airfield days and

instruction is always available to you.

That said, the Beginners Days we are running on 10th Novembemer and now 9th November as well as demand was so high would be a grate way to get started.

I also drive an automatic and I have to admit that it is not as suitable for track use as a manual gear box but it is not impossible and you will certainly still have some fun. The instruction will be split into two types. We shall do a bit of class room based general track day rules and then each driver will be able to have 15 minutes of in car instruction on the track. This instruction will be in your own car.

We do have noise restrictions for the track and no race cars are permitted. Please see the website for more information.

Regards

Samantha

Tim,

don't worry, my car is an Auto and it's fine on track. Switch off overdrive until you are reaching high speeds and you won't be at much of a disadvantage.

Andy

TT - mines an auto...

Are we gonna seriously sort out the Friday for booking because time is running out people!?

Also got mail from samantha, she says I've got a provisional booking (what ever that is)

T3RBO, just checked the easytrack site good to see that you've been confirmed for the Sat.

Now we need to get Craig in and convince Dylan to take the 300 rather than the Westfield biggrin.gif

We'll have 7 out then, how many made it to TRAX?

Tim

Good news: Craigs in now so it's gonna be a blast!

So what was Kemble like? I'm going to do the Dec 1st one.

I was at Bedford Autodrome at the weekend and it was fun racing against exotica. All the Ferrari drivers were rolling road blocks but boy are Porsche GT3's good on the circuit.

The RMA track times are expensive so the attitude of the drivers is in the upper end of sensible but i hear that Kemble can attract the Xr2 variety and cause a few problems.

comments? Is it worth the £85 for December 1st?
