I just looked up F1 tyre prices, and the size I have now -255/17s came out at a reasonable ยฃ110 a go. Out of interest I checked 265s- ยฃ170 !!!! OK, I suppose not so many people have them but that is a pretty big difference. I thought quite a few people on here had 265s. That is bloody expensive for tyres.

It goes on how common the tyre size is not so much on how large the tyres are.255/40/17 are cheaper than 245/45/16.

Nowt to do with tyre prices - but that's a nice looking SWB mate. My dark blue, 91, NA, SWB, Manual Jap import is pretty stock at the moment but loads of mods planned. Where did you get and how much were your alloys if I may make so bold??? Also what's behind your seats - I have a strange box thing with 2 6x9 speakers in!!

I got a pair of new 265/35/18 for 215 quid from jet tyres, they are the cheapest ive found

in all due respect will they last very long at that price

When I bought me 300 it had almost brand new tyres on the front called Kumho or something.

They made the whole car shake at speed even though I got them ballanced. I swopped for Falkens and it's been fine.

I wouldn't buy really cheap tyres (not that Falken are expensive!!) but it's always good to get a good deal. I got mine through http://www.blackcircles.com and they seemed cheaper than local suppliers with fitting included.

They have been the best yet, and I've been through a few! they handle well, smoke like fook, and are lasting more than a couple of months so im happy :D have only tested them to 140mph no shakes just a smooth ride

I think I paid ยฃ220 each for my Fulda Extremo 285/35/18's.

Not looking forward to replacing them now.

Intersting about tyres being unbalanced... shouldn't balancing the alloy with the tyre on it cancel out any blemishes in the tyre's weight distribution?
