why has my Z got a mitsubishi part in it

Hi guys i have done alot of electrical conection cleaning to day ready for tomorrows plug in at nissan derby.Well i was cleaning the crank angle senser terminals and after very close inspection, the very center of the unit there is a Mitsubisi symble, why? This is clearly the Mitsubishi three star symble so i am wondering being that a nissan part is around £280 if my memory serves me well,i wonder what the same Mitsubishi one would cost and does the Z share any other common parts with other model cars, maybe these parts are cheaper.I dont know you tell me,but what model car does the Z CAS come from.Chas

Mitsubishi is a huge company and probably make parts specifically for Nissan.

Chas, don't wanna really upset yer matey but the PTU was made by Hitachi and Mitsubishi aswell. So you got some Hi-Fi components in the Z more than likely aswell.

Which would explain why they crap out, most Z's ignition is controlled by a 32" Widescreen T.V. transformer...ROFL biggrin.gif

Aiiiii!!! ROFL biggrin.gif

the Japanese translation is all wrong, it's supposed to be MitsuBitch

Which means 3 bitch

I'm playing by the way, it really means tripple diamond which would explain the logo.

Owning a 95 eclipse at one point in time (in which i will disown from my mind if possible) I don't even consider that a car, it crapped out every other week, the worst part, IT WAS A BRAND NEW LEASED CAR..... needless to say it was a Lemon, and the Lemon law would've got me a replacement but made them just refund the money.

I don't trust made in America cars, and which dodge, and chysler owns a big chunk of the company........

Yeah, know how you feel mate, Renault own most of Nissan now...big mistake!

They're even using a French man to deliver the new Nissan ads here in the UK on the telly etc. WTF is going on? Jap car company, but with a tinge of Francais!!!

Never saw a German doing the ads for Rover when BMW owned the company! Nuff said!

my g/f has a ren 19 16v, always broken. always.

it's not funny how poorly constucted french cars are, and the 19 16v seems to be on a knife edge of reliability. one minute everythings fine, the next everything is broken again. either it's fragile or my g/f is a hard driver

......... ... .... ... ... f*ck. she's got my car today ;o(

I had a company R19 16v and that was thrashed to within an inch of it's life everyday. Must admit it wasn't the most reliable car ever though ...

plus all the renault main dealers she's taken it to are either taking the piss or utterly incompetant...

"i've got some bad news, there's water in your coolant."... i should f*ing well hope so. grrrrrrrrr.

I could recommend a good Renault specialist (but non-Renault dealer) if you're interested, but they are in Essex.
