Speedo Conversion / Delimiter

There seems to be a lot of conflicting information on MPH conversions / Delimeters for J-Spec cars.

I have a J-Spec, limited to 110 KPH. Also have the dials purchased from Vijay (180 MPH with an extra marker for 190).

Now what is the best way for the conversion and delimitation, and keeping the correct speedo readings?.

Get it chipped or just buy the delimeter from the ZCentre?.

Help, I am confussed!.

Thanks

i fitted the speed delimiter m8, and it works spot on

speedo is accurate, testing speedo with road angel, its near enough the same

Chipping will only remove the speed limiter, it won't do the kmh-mph conversion ;)

On this topic, will a full UK speedo just drop right in in place of the Jspec?

Thanks Andy. So I would have to get the Speedo converter and chipped for what I want!?

Hi,

Are your original, limited, J-spec dials marked up to 190 km/h (120mph)?

My dial face was replaced by the importer for a 120mph but is still limited.

I'm hoping that changing the dials (to Vijay's indiglos) and fitting a converter will sort out both problems.

going back to goit,s post, can i plug a uk speedo as a complete unit to unlimit the top speed, and will it marry up to a j spec car in regards to the loom, i keep getting conflicting stories and ime getting info overload

brian

UK spec dash will fit straight in no problem, all loom etc will be ok, speedo will read in MPH but the limit will still be there.

also once you have fitted the delimiter

the kph clock will then read mph, ie if your doing 70 mph it will show as 70 kph

I think that's true if you get a dash from the same series of car. I got a series 2 dash and it wouldn't fit my series 1 car, although there are ways around the problem - it's just not plug and play.
