yup, got one. fun bit of kit

i think chris was selling them a while back?

got one, it's quite good, but its a pain finding level ground long enough to run tests on,

I had a play with one before and they are good fun, the model I tried claimed to work out your RWHP if you told it the weight of the car!!?!?!? probably Max-Power Horse power though.. it would probably ask if I had "PHAT STICKERZ" on the side of my car!

I like this bit in the product description from the link:

"G-Force is what's keeping you in your seat as you are reading these words and if it wasn't for the seat you would be accelerating to the ground at 1G (32 feet per second per second). "

the BHP runs i've done on my gtech have been quite close to actual RR results and are consistent, you basically have to do 5 runs, drop highest and lowest and then average the 3 remaining to get a vaguely accurate result, it showed a 12hp increase when I installed my induction kit (mainly due to prior breathing problems i believe with the old airbox)

I suppose that's when it really does come in handy, when you upgrade something. You can then see a before and after.

Vijay

£135  £65 to you sir not in stock though but due in next week :)

You aint seen nothing yet

Nah its definately RWHP it measures, otherwise you'd have to put in transmission losses too ;) Thats whats so good about it, it gives you the actual power going to the road :)

I stand corrected! :)

I got one from Chris - fab piece of kit

Managed to get both my Mondeo 1.8 and Vectra 140SRi under 10 seconds 0-60 :D:D

Havent used it on the zed yet but I will do soon :hyper:

Thanks for all the comments guys.

Chris, will contact you soon.

iv got the apexi rsm fitted on mine havent got the g-sensor fitted yet are these good for measureing rwhp

Just to be really pedantic (no change there then :D ) these gadgets don't measure rwhp, they measure your acceleration and then use the weight of the car to calculate the power needed to accelerate that mass at the rate it measured.

But what that means is you will get a very good result based on how fast you and your car really moved - so IMHO this is even more accurate than most rolling road dynos.

I wonder if (to be really accurate) you have to include the weight of driver / cd jukebox / krooklok / crisp packets as well?

to be even more pedantic, RR's dont measure RWBHP either, they measure torque and then calculate BHP from that ;) :D
