My 17's only barely clear my AP's, much less than 1mm clearance, so I've been driving round with two large cans of tyreweld for years. Really must invest in some 18s :)

Used tyreweld on a colleague's ZX7 rear wheel (Kawasaki) a while back and it worked a treat. He didn't push it until he'd got the tyre sorted obviously but he didn't notice any adverse affects. I reckon if it's good enough for 2 wheel action then it's gotta be ok for us; and just think of the weight saving !

WtF? what are you elton john

LOL I've been telling people this for years  My frizbee has been in my mums garage since june 2001 :D

Joint the AA or RAC or Green Flag or anyone of those and ditch the bitch out of the boot and make it a real space saver.

It will soon be law anyway that you will not be insured to change your own wheel. + Some car firms have already stopped providing a spare wheel in the states because of litigation by tw@ts that drop their own cars on them selves. (properbly as they try to squeeze their fat limbs under the car to pick up they Mega Mega super size McLardy Buger they dropped while changing the wheel) So believe me it is on its way.

Just do what everyone else does who has larger disks (363mm on the front of my car).

Put the space-saver on the back!

I would have thought you'd want the skinny one on the back and better grip on the steering end anyway - regardless of which tyre fails!

Tyre puncture repair in a can, get it from Harry Halfords. Most bikers use the tyre slime stuff.

Slime and other pre-puncture sealants can mask a serious problem (like a damaged side wall).

Post puncture sealants make a professional tyre repair difficult later.

But I guess it's better than walking.

You can get kits for motorbikes where you insert a bung-thing from the outside and blow up the tyre with little gas cylinders... but I dunno if they'd be any good on a car.

That said I rode home from Glasgow (270 miles???) after a stag night with a huge hang over at 100mph+ all the way on a 'teporary roadside repair', only guaranteed for 40mph/30 miles or something on a CBR600.

Only ever used tyre weld once many years ago on my motorbike it did the trick and got me home ok....never really put much thought into buying another can to use on my Z .....
