Yeah, that's fair enough, but displaying peoples I.P. addresses is not legal!!!

 

I posted my response on there and then did an nslookup on my posted address...happens to be the firewall server!

 

So we're not just talking about people sat at home on their own PC's via an ISP which probably uses DHCP which effectively means everytime you log on you're allocated a temporary address.

 

This is not on what they(the Admin. guys) are doing! Seems to be upsetting a few people already! Not surprisingly!

 

There's inforcing strict guidelines and policy, then there's being an out and out Hitler!!!

 

We don't have to look very far from here to see what a forum/BBS ends up like run in that manner...do we?

I've stopped the IP display thing, but it must *be* legal otherwise the facility would be included with ubb.

 

I would also prefer that the personal insults against me stop. I have done nothing to you.

Dave - I think UBB is a US product? Their DPA laws are very different from ours (freedom of information etc over there.. while the DPA was tightened up very recently over here)..

 

Aanyway.. I gotta second the call for the insults to stop that are aimed towards Dave - he's only doing his job guys.. Anyway he's alright really.. Even if he did have a go at me once on Renault1916v.co.uk..

The thing is mate it all comes back to moi. I own the board so everytime someone goes and does something like that I get a load of abusive emails from the other boards. I was just trying to make them understand that there causing more trouble than they think they are.
