October 14, 200124 yr My dream Japanese car would be a Honda NSX, but as they are too expensive, would a Twin Turbo 300ZX be a good alternative. How does it compare on performance?
October 14, 200124 yr On paper they are very similar.... only 0.1sec difference in 0-100, however I think an NSX would turn more heads, outlap a Z on a track and feel a little more special. NSX is one of the VERY few cars I'd take over my Z, and that was only if I didn't have to pay for it! Oh, and Z's are a lot easier to modify. Ben
October 14, 200124 yr Yeah, I remember a few car-magazines comments about the 300TT and other cars.... It was like (well a few years ago') the jap-ferrari where everything is double (like twin turbo and other things supposed to be double then other cars whatever that was)... and they were also saying that the Z was maybe a fraction of a second faster than the NSX.. and that anyway the conclusion was why buy a NSX when for less you can get a Z.... In the end I do agree that the NSX is a very nice car and if I could affor it I would buy it without thinking twic... yes you got me here I do like the NSX well who doesn't... maybe 10 years from now a 10years old NSX will be affordable as today a 10years old Z is... sort of
October 14, 200124 yr Boyz boyz boyz!!!! Where is your loyalty? Hello...Are we forgeting our younger brother...Mr Skyline R34. I'd take a Skyline over a NSX...just!
October 14, 200124 yr theres an nsx on autotrader for £19k that's quite a lot of car for the money. and I think i've only ever seen 1 on the road. mind you - you hardly ever seen r34 skylines either. either way - at the moment - z's seem to offer really good value for money (as in it's an awful lot of car for the money)...until they break ;o)
October 14, 200124 yr I see in this week's Autocar, that Honda are giving the NSX a cosmetic makeover, to give it a more rounded, modern look. The engine will stay the same 3.2L "280HP" as B4! Shame Nissan couldn't have kept the 300ZX as their flagship model, and updated it over the years, like Honda.
October 14, 200124 yr I hadn't seen an NSX for absolutely ages and then on the day that I was on the way back from buying my Z from Cardiff 2 weeks ago I saw a lovely silver one come past on the M5. ...did not give chase(Imagine the scene - happy owner of new ZX - has race with NSX - rolls it - unhappy owner of new ZX)....Besides had the targas off and was enjoying the sun.
