This all started about a week ago.

When i put my foot on the accelerator, rather than getting vrooom, i get, splutter splutter vrooom. If i let the car idle and tap the accelerator the revs drop a couple of hundred rpm before rising.

I have brought this up in an earlier thread and jaz suggested playing with the temp sensor connector. Done this and i thought this solved the problem, but its bnack again.

Driving home from work, the car was spluttery again. I stopped the car and it wouldnt start again. cleaned up the temp sensor connector again, no change! When turning the key, it ticked over but wouldnt bite. Tried it again with the pedal to the florr and it eventually coughed into starting.

Gave it a wee rev, turned it off and nipped to the shop. When i came out, it started fine and drove home fine.

This is happening quite a bit, the slutteryness is coming and going.

Just gonna nip out now and clean the throttle bodies and IACV valve (as suggested by Vijay)and see if there is any improvement.

Any other suggestions???

yep, get a can of contact cleaner and give every connector in the engine bay a good clean up. Make sure you clean the throttle bodies first as the crap will go down into the IACV valve. It might take a couple of turns to start afterwards :)

Where can you buy contact cleaner?
