i have just sold my uk auto tt yesterday morning and i got a phone call this morning saying that the big ends have gone and he wants his money back :(

i havent had any trouble with the engine apart from battery dying although it has done 113,000 miles. is it a new engine or is there a way of sorting it out cheap. i have said i would pay for work but if its going to cost too much ill have to negotiate a bit. any ideas!!!!

the bloke has contacted ebay and they have said it could be fraud and he is thinking of going to police!!! the garage said the big ends must have been worn when i sold it!!!

absolute *****cks m8, don't worry about it, maybe they were worn especially after that mileage, but it was up to HIM to investigate the car, as for fraud

it doesn't come into a case like this, at worst its trades description, or selling an item, knowing it was not fit for the purpose it was sold for, BUT he hasn't got that option as your not a trader, and as far as your concerned, when the car left you, and while you had it, it was road worthy, and i assume you thought it was A1 ??

i would expect a 12-13-14 year old car to have worn parts, lol don't we all know it, but as someone mentioned buyer beware, or for a car that age BE AWARE

dont worry mate, if you did not know the big ends were going, and he actually asked, "are the big ends going" then he has zero legal come back. ive been in this position before and thats what citizens advice said. he had to ask that question for there to be any come back

if he payed 2k for it or near abouts then he can spend anouther 2k on rebuild therefor he will have a 4k z so fook him :xxx: fraud for what the old saying sold as seen sod him let him take you to court,as far as your concerned the car was fine s**t happens unfortunatly :duffer: :duffer: :duffer:

The long and the short of it mate...!! is tell him to go and F**K him self , he has no come back on you what so ever, as stated above the car was running well when it was sold, he was happy with the sale........end of story...:D

Dead right sgt c!!-Have the big ends gone??-If so tuff S**t,If it goes to court etc[which it won't!]He'll lose m8! :xxx:

After 2 days of selling my first Z i had a phone call,"Its fooked,No5 pistons gone,i want me money back bla bla bla",anyway when he came to check over car he brought "Specialist" with him, after 2 hours and no probs he went away happy,so,after about an hour on the phone i got to the bottom of it,he had been out with his mates, razzin it all day, about 11pm comes to roundabout in MK,brakes late, sideways, screems it around it,lost control again, then something went!,he said  limped home, garage done a test,No5 shot, you can guess what i said after that :xxx: ,so Marcus, car was ok when he bought it,theres no law for ignorance on his part IF the motor was shot, was he deaf, could he not hear it was knackerd, did it rattle, smoke, perform like a fiesta,NO,course it did not,he was responsible for satisfying himself that it was ok and happy to purchase at that price, there is no way ever that you are responsible for anything after the car was sold to him, under a private sale "NO COME BACKS"on your part, and it will be forever that way in this country, just tell him politly these things happen,he was unlucky, but shit happens, tough but thats life!.

Oh and to prove a point,my new Z now needs, heater matrix, gearbox input shaft bearing squeels more and more for first 3 mins or so ,so that will need doin, rear lights playing up,interior lights, aircon us,but hey, thats all part of buying and selling private,i wanted the Z,i got it for a great price considering all the other work done to it,and i knew that sooner or later i will probably have problems, but thats Z ownership for you,i would not dream of phoneing the guy up and giving him grief,we all know the score when buying/selling private, infact we have talked since about other things on the phone(he has some juicy bits for sale that i am going to post up for him on here, all Z stuff) but i dont blame him or accuse him of selling me a Bad One so to speak, christ i got it for nearly £2,000 less than he wanted,i am still happy :)
