auto box oil pump swap???

ive tried to swap my auto box only to find the torque converter supplied doesnt fit now ive found there are two different types of torque converter ive been told by the guy who sold me the toque converter and box he can just swap the pump and shaft so the new torque converter will fit the new box! is the pie in the sky or is it true???

my old box wouldnt go into 3rd gear and if it did it slipped untill the revs hit the redline would this of been a pump problem??

I dont know for sure with the Z box but the theory is sound. As for your problem before, that would be the third gear clutch worn out, if it was the pump or converter it would give very different problems. DONT forget what ever you do to FULLY FLUSH the cooler and its pipes before you re-fit the box.
