this may suprise tou it did me

Hi took my Z to be pluged in at Nissan to day the engine was given clean bill of health,so that means i waisted £400 fucking quid at my local gararge trying to put it right,BASTARD!!!!!!

Any way the problem for my Z ocasionly lossing power is the Auto gear box (WHAT?),the read out says the following,"TCM detects an improper voltage drop when it tries to operate the solenoid valve"

The check list is as follows,"Harness or connectors,(the solenoid circuit is open or shorted.)Or line pressure solenoid"that is what it says word for word.I spoke to a guy called Bob at a company in Notts called Oak dean,he says this does not have to mean the gear box has to come out, some times it can be done in situe,(but knowing my bastard luck the box will have to come out along with yhe engine and my front seat knowdoubt).

Question, has this happend to any one else and how much did it cost to put right, evern tell me worst case prices ie gearbox ect.

The guy at Nissan said even though people try to duck nissan prices some times money can be saved by diagnostic checks,DAM RIGHT!! CHAS

But your right about them working on your car and the rip off price, its just that if in hinsight i had gone for a diagnostik check first i would be £400 quid betteroff today.regards chas

Yep, you're not wrong mate, most peeps would agree that a Consult check is the first thing you should do! If anything it car rule out a shit load of things anyway.

Hopefully, once Eric and his chums have finished what they're working on we will all have the privilege of running our own Consult diag. from the comfort of our own home! Can't wait! wink.gif

Be like McClaren, they supply a laptop with the F1 and when you think it's not well they dial in to run tests and check settings...LARGE!!! biggrin.gif

Who wants the hassle of going to a garage anyway?

Charlie mate stop right there!!

I had a very good experience with an auto specialist who knew the zed box well,I hav`nt the number to hand now but will post it later, they have a dealer in the midlands and at least one in the London area, will find out, as an example I supplied them with a second hand autobox and torque convertor (£650 from a breaker)and they removed the old one flushed the cooler and refitted the replacement all in £250 which I thought was fair.(will post contact details later) Jeff TT
