Well the good news first, spent the day over at JD's in Kidderminster and besides watching the Grand Prix (how good was that! :D) we fitted my Brembo's  Well chuffed with them (cheers John! ;) :))

And now, the bad news.

Brembos_and_crash_photos_008_reduced_and_blanked.JPG[/img]

Was stationary, waiting for a gap in traffic to turn onto my drive after getting home from John's, LITERALLY right outside my house, when the idiot behind me decided this would be the perfect time to turn kamikaze and crash into the back of me. I'm hoping the damage to mine is only superficial, won't know till we get the bumper off but still, three body panels, the headlights and the illuminated centre panel all f*cked. Luckily two guys who were both filling their cars up in the petrol station next door came over, said they saw everything and offered to be witnesses. To top it all, I started to get a really stiff neck and bizarrely my head felt really heavy, Lucie persuaded me to go and get it checked out at our local A&E and several X-rays later, thankfully nothing serious but was told that apparently I've got whiplash and should expect it to get worse. Arse. :( :( :(

Friday,

Wheels and brakes look cool :)

I've treated lots of whiplash patients, if you go into A&E post an accident and they clear serious problems (fractures etc) they will always tell you that you have whiplash...

Dont stress too much, although it may get a bit stiff and sore, generally it eases quickly, I presume they gave you a home exercise and care sheet? Generally keep your neck mobile within the limits of comfort, simple exercises can be done lying on your back with your head and neck supported by a medium sized pillow and gently rotate first one way about 10 times then the other way. Also try to sleep with your head in a neutral position.e.g. not rotated or bent forwards/back. Best thing, if you have any worries or cant keep your neck mobile without pain go and see a physio/osteopath for a proper consultation :)

Hope you get the car sorted

:(:( Leigh, not good mate, Hope you are ok and you get ya baby sorted soon bud:D

Cheers guys, and thanks for the medical advice SteA! :) Looking on the brightside people have far worse crashes and this might be the perfect opportunity to sort out a few body mods I've been hankering after...I feel new rear lights coming on! Hmmmm....LED's or Diablo look-a-likes...;)

bright side, new bumper, 99spec rear lights, also whiplash = about a 2.5k instant personal incident payout from insurance.

Yeah they are, thought I'd fit them to stop me accidentally trashing...the...back...end...

Doh.

But seriously, when I bought the car it had limo tints on the rear window and rear quarters. Though they look great it's difficult to see through in the day, bloody impossible to see through at night. I found a good deal on the sensors so had 'em fitted and colour coded. Looks like I might be getting a new set though! :D

Right. Started sorting out the insurance stuff today. Apparently I'll be getting a courtesy car "of a similar specification" to mine...yeah right! Lol!

Also been told a solicitor will be getting in touch with me regarding a personal injury claim. I was originally going to talk to one of these "no win-no fee" firms so just wanted to ask if anyones been in this situation and can offer any advice. Also, like I said previously, I'd like to fit aftermarket lights (and possibly also bumper) instead of stock units, just wondering how I go about organising this with the insurers/bodyshop...any potential difficulties with doing this?

Cheers,

Leigh.

I guess if you stress you want it sorting by a known Z specialist then they can't complain too much can they? Then I guess you can deal with the specialist yourself

Hi Leigh,

Sorry to see this mate, real sh1tter!! How about a wide arse convo! :duffer:

Sorry to here this Leigh, but if you want a U.K. spec rear bumper with fogs I've got one same colour as JD's car. Its at Wrexham auto craft and Lee will paint it for you and do your repairs if you want. PM me if you want his No.

By the way glad to see you got some proper brakes. Have you got rears as well.

Cheers for that mate, it's appreciated. Will see how things progress and may well be in touch :) Yeah, really glad I've got the brakes sorted, just did the fronts though. Stock rears should be up to the job and, not sure if I'm right on this, isn't there any issue with getting the GTR rears to fit? Maybe I just dreamt it! ;)

No. So long as you've got 17's or bigger they just fit staight on. Well mine have.

That's a real b!tch, the exact thing happened to my brother's zed, same side too & he had whiplash. If you need any advice regarding insurance etc then get in touch with DaveMac on this forum.
