Futher to my other thread " rear wheel hub's" Been told by MR F. you can replace the studs in the flanges, :rolleyes: rather that get new flanges thought that this might be the way ahead :p , anybody attempted this or can anybody confirm weather this is true or not!

 

Basiclly he said that the studs have a splice in them and get pulled into the flange the first time that the wheel is put on and the nuts are done up, and as 4 out of the 5 sheared off yesturday whilst driving :shock: , which was very un-nurving i might add :cry: ( new under ware and drivers seat now required, so anybody got a good deal going on pm me, not for the underware thought. lol )

 

going to see if i can knock one out first :rolleyes: , however need to get the hub front off first so, anybody know the size of the nut holding it on, and F***ing big is not a size conturary to popular belief. :)

 

also anybody know the size of the stud's length and diamiter and thread size and as to where i might get these :bow: , got a feeling i might have to get them made up. :(

I had a stud replaced yesterday as one of them had been snapped off by a local garage whilst tightening wheel nuts. The wheel nuts can be knocked out and new ones fitted from behind. The nut size is 21ml and is the same size as that on the Nissan Silvia. Hope this helps :)

Apparantly there may be problems if it is a wheel that houses the ABS sensor, mine was the rear driver wheel and it had no sensor so it was an easy job.

looks like the previous owner had locking wheel nuts and lost the key as 1 on each side of the rear was missing, not a prob i thought get them fix but other stuff i wanna do first no she's not well with the pass rear wheel held on buy one nut :cry: :cry: and the thread on that one is F***ed as when the others came off this was the only one left and was rubbing on the wheel until i pulled over, thought i had a blow out at first, wish it had a been now :cry:

I was lucky enough to know a guy who breaks Sylvias and he had a spare, you could probably nick one from a scrappy. I will ask around to see if I can find anyone selling locally

gonna do both rears all new, as suggested. 300+BHP going through the rear wheels so best get new ones for a bit of peice of mind,

 

If you know i guy that can get hold of them, is their any chance you can ask him about new ones for me? or give me his contact details so i can contact him my self?

as to getting one from a scrappy, you must be joking, they wont seperate a hub for anyone not worth the hassel they say and it means they cant sell the hub as a complete unit as it would have the studs missing bunch of :xxx:

and at £60 from my local jap scrap guy and £3 a stud £30 a set not worth the hassel.

Just spoke to nissan and for 10 studs and 6 wheel nuts £50 including VAT, but misses works for lookers and they have a nissan so gonna see how much they come back with.
