Welcome.

check out loads of them before you buy one. Imports are more expensive to insure. Dont be put off buy auto's ( I have had both manwell and Auto and Uk and J-spec versions ) and just as much fun, actually prefer the auto now.. must be getting older !

Buy a tt as you'll only want one if you dont.

If you can find a member willing to go along to check a car out with you (quite a few will if they are within reasonable distance) take one along, experience of owning a zed goes a LONG way when making a new purchase.

Basic checks are

Make sure it Idle wells

Make sure it boosts well

Make sure you drive it from a cold start and take it for a reasonably long "spirited" drive.

If the exhausts are stock, then check them for rust, also check the underside of the car particulary the front and rear sills, jack the car up and check the crossmember, everything else is pretty straight forward when checking out a car,

Infact, check the cars for sale section, there are a few members selling cars at the moment.

Hi

I bought a non-turbo and love it. It's more reliable than a turbo and makes a better 'daily driver'.

But, obviously, it's not as fast.

is there anyone near me in Warwickshire?

could do with some advice, ive seen a couple round here......a grey one with a big spoiler and a black one with 5 spoke alloys and a different looking rear to the grey one.

i was thinking of getting a non-turbo as mine will be used every day, will that make a difference on wear and tear?

No turbos to wear out for starters, plus your tyres will last (a bit) longer.... ;)

I've got a TT and use it every day for a 50 mile round trip to work. Seems to run better now than when I drove 18 miles per day

Costs a bit more in petrol now but I don't care, I just love driving it

Welcome to the forum...

Richard :)

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

I've got an NA- and I'm in Leamington. Owned it for a year (but I'm no expert in any way shape or form). Use it every day (16,000 miles in a year)- it's a nice car. Where abouts in Warwickshire are you?

SWB and TT........;) ooooh did i say Black and Manwell toooo......

Welcome to the nut house...

Matt
