davido140 Posted August 25, 2004 Posted August 25, 2004 For those of you that have had complete resprays done how long did it take? Just spoke to the bodyshop and they say it will take another two weeks! (already had it for four on Friday) Joblist was, complete respray in new colour (all doorshuts and sills, not the engine bay), fit clear side indicators, new external trims (over the doors and under the windscreen) new fron bumper ('99 spec) new rear spoiler (oem replica) fix a couple of minor dents and dings, repair the sills where the car had been jacked up wrong and thats it! six weeks seems a bit over the top to me and I'm getting a little impatient.. Quote
paulbrem Posted August 25, 2004 Posted August 25, 2004 six weeks seems a bit over the top to me and I'm getting a little impatient.. So would I be! 6 weeks is deffo too long Quote
Trevz Posted August 25, 2004 Posted August 25, 2004 It's about a weeks work isnt it? How much if you dont mind saying mate? Quote
DanDud Posted August 25, 2004 Posted August 25, 2004 A job like that should not take more than 2 weeks! BUT they cant concentrate on yours all at once and will have to fit others in. Id still question them though. Quote
sideshowbob Posted August 25, 2004 Posted August 25, 2004 Yeah, that seems a little excessive mate. Did you supply the rubbers/bumper etc...? If its left to them, then they probably haven't a clue were to get 'em! Have you been to see the car while its in there? A mate of mine had a similar experience, his took 7mths!! They wouldn't let him even see the car, saying it was at another location! Eventually transpired that they had crashed the car & were trying to fix it!! But then again it was a Golf! :x: Quote
davido140 Posted August 25, 2004 Author Posted August 25, 2004 I thought it was taking the p1ss a bit, I think its a case of they have a million jobs on and have just been doing bits and pieces to mine which has dragged it out. Im too much of a big girl to have a go at them though, mainly because the car is halfway across the bloody country and I cant just nip in to the bodyshop shout a bit and stamp my feet. (as I have a go on the phone they could be taking a hammer to my car! ) All the bits and pieces were supplied by the Zed Centre and delivered straight to the bodyshop. Price for the respray was £1350. (which I thought was a bargain, was quoted silly money around where I live) Dont really want to mention the body shop as I dont want to offend anybody, get banned, or whatever... Just gagging to get on with the project and get some of this mountain of parts in my house on to the car!! (and relieve chunk of the wheels that are cluttering up his house/garage/garden) grumpy grumpy grumpy, I want my Zed back.... Quote
mantav8 Posted August 25, 2004 Posted August 25, 2004 If they do insurance work like our place your car will be bottom of the pile mate! They will be bitting and bobbin' with the zed in between jobs-least thats what happens at our gaff,so get on the phone and make a foooking nuisance of yourself-our customers are always right! :o Quote
EvoluZion3 Posted August 25, 2004 Posted August 25, 2004 I was quoted 4 weeks max (2 weeks' work with 2 weeks other jobs inbetween) for a full respray and fitting of a full bodykit Quote
davido140 Posted August 25, 2004 Author Posted August 25, 2004 Well it needs to be finished for the 2nd week of Sept otherwise chunk is going to put my wheels out with the rubbish.... need to collect the car and the wheels in the same trip! Quote
