As the title says guys, i have never felt so dishearted with this place as i do now and i know am not alone.

I assumed a club with members who paid their dosh meant they were looked upon as stake holders if you like, therefore it is WE who own it, though not forgetting Craig who is the boss man who created it :p

With that in mind it beggers belief at some of the things that go on around here, for those of you following Matty's and then my own problems in the fight club you will see that trying to get answers from those appointed by US the members is somewhat of a trying time, don't get me wrong in general it all runs smoothly and i have a great deal of respect for some of those who give up their time to help run the club. However i now this place as going beyond reasonale moderation at times and more like being draconian policed :confused:

I have just heard that a VERY long standing member Matty has been banned for 2 weeks as it was suggested he is causing trouble ?? what's this then ? have any of you fellas complained that Matty is a trouble maker ? this guy has been on this forum a long time and has given a great deal back, yer couldn't find a nicer bloke and i have to say am gobsmacked with this action against him, even i've been threatend with a Ban ! what's all this then with what authority are bans imposed by what rights ? things are going to far it's almost at the stage that if you upset the wrong person, yer off ! With suddenly deleated posts and threats.

As for Jafftt's posts threads and long standing issues, well there's no point in even going there.

Am not wanting to cause trouble, enflame any trouble but have got to ask what on earth is happening to us.

What EXCATLY is your role in this club and what authority do you have ?

I believed it is nothing more than you are the provider of our bandwith and have no authority to do Admin or mod what is posted on the forums.

Please confirm.

My own view, not that you probably want it but.....

 

Mike you do a good job in keeping the IT side of this forum going ( whats that? praise? from me?) and no doubt we are all very grateful, however, I PERSONALLY dont think you should have Moderator rights, and before you get picky I mean the ability to moderate peoples posts for them! This is just my opinion.

If you need mod rights due to their not being enough mods to monitor the board most of the time throughout the day then I would suggest another MOD post should be created.

Secondly, and im not having a whinge just a little confused, it says that Topless banned Matty, how can that be? I thought topless resigned? or was that just from his original role and he is still a MOD? I dunno, perhaps ive missed something.

why should I not have mod rights? I personally think people are going way over the top, personally I have moderated less than 6 threads/issues in 8 months? and all for reasons of T&C breaking. Maybe because i actually TELL people when i moderate things i get a bad press? Trust me the moderation on this forum is intentionally light, that is why when something happens people turn it into a big deal, I'm a member of forums which are moderated to a level 200times higher than this, I think it is nice that moderation is light on this forum. Please show where I have incorrectly moderated, because I nor any other member of the moderator /commitee pool believe I have done anything which is outside of the moderator T&C.

well mark isn't a normal member, he is a moderator which can be seen from the forum leaders page. He was asked by the commitee as previously stated to take up this role that was left by smw1 when he joined the commitee,

 

please address the 3 good points to SMW1 as club secretary and the commitee will go over them and provide you an answer, I feel i am not getting very far by trying to be helpful so I will have no more say on the matter in public, I have a busy few days with work now, so don't even know if i will have the time to respond to you.

I was about to write a huuuge screed ('cos now I'm a no longer a committee member or moderator I don't have to keep my trap shut in fear of the reaction) but BigRoy's right. This whole sort of thing is a big yawn.

It's an open club - put yourself forward in the next elections and then you can stand in the barrel in the shower of sh1t (how many people put themselves forward for Treasurer? 1 - that's all - just 1.)

Being relatively new here i can't comment on the forums past,But at present i reckon it's sH!t hot,and is THE reason i took the plunge and bought my zed!

ANYONE who puts in time/money to keep something running for the benefit of others is on for a few drinks IMHO,so keep it up! It took a lot to reply to this thread as i don't usally bother with this kinda stuff-personally i'd rather be under the bonnet of my 300!

As a relative newcomer to the Zed world and not fully au fait with this site's politics I agree with cad paul. I too would not have entered Zed world without knowing that this site was available.

This is rediculous now. The place is eating itself from the inside out. Everyone always screams and shouts about the actions of the mods and come up with new ideas and ways but thats ALWAYS where it finishes. IMO the mods/admin/whatever have enough to do without either more work or having to answer for their actions. If you want to get involved, do just that, but you can't expect to come up with ideas and then TELL OTHER PEOPLE to do it!!!! Why should there be any reason to be given for mod actions anyway? If you don't like it, walk away. I know Matty, have met him, even had a full day and night in a hotel with him b4 trax 2001 and we do get on. However I do feel a bit of immaturity came through in his post. He didn't get it, ho hum life goes on.... Can we PLEASE drop this whole them-us situation and get on with whats important? No one has any personal vendettors so lets drop the insecurity eh ;)
