what do i need to look at.

my car seems to be loosing power after about 20 mins and it looks by using my aftermarket guage to be going into safety. now ive had a full service with new plugs etc and this hasnt fixed it. im runnin on optimax fuel and this hasnt fixed it. im not sure when its going into saftey boost but i think its when the engine is put under a bit more strain, ie on hills and when booting it. i can drive her on the motorway with no probs but b roads seem to kill power. i have a conzult i can plug in but am unsure exactly what i should be looking for to work this one out. have done ecu test and code 55.

sounds like you're detting, from what I've read the Central 20 ECU is quite aggresive with the timing, so it might be worth trying a different one, or retarding the timing a few degrees at the CAS, see if that makes a difference. At least you'll know if the timing is causing the issue that way.

oops, just seen you're using boost jets too. Does it also behave the same with the boost jets out? How much boost are you running? You may need different boost jets to run less boost.

It's probably just a combination of the above = too much boost and timing, if you drop one of them it'll probably stop the detting.

never got around to fitting the boost jets. i did have the same problem before with my standard ecu. the timing is currently 15 btdc what do u think i should set it at.

Is that what the Conzult is telling you? 15% btdc. If so this may not be correct, the ConZult tells you what it thinks the timing should be set at. You need to set it up via the CAS with a decent strobe light...I had the CR20 ECU running at 15 with no probs.

Who knows give it a try

hmmm, maybe you have a fuelling problem then if it happened with Stock ECU and boost. Check you timming first as Dave suggests, and if that's OK you may need to start checking the resistance on your injectors to make sure they are all OK.
