I bought my car in February this year.

It's a N/A auto 1999 car.

I haven't driven it that fast as it started to shake at high speed. I changed all four tyres today (the fronts were 'Nankangs' or something and I think they were the problem) and now it doesn't shake.

But it seems to hit what feels like an electronic limiter just below 130mph.

Does anyone know if that's the case or what it might be?

Any ideas how to liberate the full power / speed?

Thanks gents!

The ConZult should have given you the limit programmed into the ECU - at least that's what Lymon showed me when he did a ConZult on mine at Billing.

Craig, if I remember correctly your car was restricted at 180kmh/112mph (like all jspec cars)

To get the full potential out of your car, will be a bit of a problem, since your car had a new type ECU which can't be upgraded that easily.

Had the same problem, chipping fixed it. But not sure if its different for a '99 spec

interesting... thanks gents.

It's not a 180kph / 112mph restriction I don't think as it happens at about 128mph on the speedo. I think that's a genuine reading and not just the speedo being incorrect.

Scotty... where did you get the chip and what is it called (and roughly what did it cost)?

Mine wasnt resticted to 180kmph either. The car was restricted in 3rd, 4th and 5th gear. Email me on bigscottwil@hotmail.com

Dont really want to sell them without the tyres. Brand new pirellis all round (over 500 quid worth). If i sell you the wheels and buy 18's, what would i do with the tyres?
