Sorry, I suppose I didn't express myself very clearly. I mean the red warning light on the instrument panel that shows a picture of a car with its doors open.

Check the fuses in the drivers footwell, there's a little 7.5amp fuses, if thats blown that may be causing it

Your boot is open!

if you have a alarm the bonnet switch might not be making good contact, to test it unplug it and see if the light is off

I recon its a dodgy switch, probably lost the connection on the door pin. Does you int light stay on also if you put it on the open setting?, if so, I would 99% say dodgy door pin.

 

Whip the screw out and have a look (youll ned to unclip the interior plastic trim on the inside a little to get to it, but you dont need to remove it)
