Just got a lovely 2nd hand stainless exhaust courtesy of Jonnyz32, just giving it a bit of a polish and shine! :D

Stupid question being there is plenty of soot inside so should I clean it out before fitting it to the car? if so how? Pressure washer? garden hose? pipe cleaners?

Also thought there may be some oil or other gunk in there from the previous car....

Cheers

Personally I'd just put it on and drive the car as normal.

If your engine is in good fettle, it won't add too much to the cr@p in there and may even blow most of it out..... ;)

Don't run a hose or pressure washer through it as excess water will accumulate inside it causing rot from the inside.

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Nah, bolt it on and go for a blast. Plus, of course, if it is pukka stainless then water onside wouldn't make it corrode !

As above, just fit it & drive!

But...if you want to clean it inside, use some

caustic soda (potent stuff), leave overnight, then rinse

THOUROUGHLY with water.

I bought a 2nd hand one, polished the bits you can see, put it on, smoked like a puppy in a cigarette factory for a while, good as gold now, put it on!!!!
