Where is it?... I'm in Derby but I do not know this PUB!!!!

I dont know what the name of the road is that it is on so heres an attempt at some directions.

At the Markeaton roundabout, head towards Belper but take the first exit as if you are going to the Uni. At the top of the slip road turn right, then first left and follow this road up till you get to a little roundabout. At the pub is now your left.

There, that wasn't hard was it?

It's on Duffield Road. Cos, well done m8.

Z you sunday,

Van

Are we meeting up in the afternoon or evening?

Bear in mind that it's going to be a shitty day according to teletext.

How about 2pm folks.

Sounds good to me. 2pm it is.

Tamworth to Derby not far, please can I come??? Jeff TT

Anyone and everyone is welcome. Are you ok with directions?

Straight up A38 is it Derby centre or North?

a mobile no would be useful if I get lost, mail me. Jeff TT

You are very welcome Jeff. As far as I'm concerned, the more the merrier m8.

It'll be cool with loads of Zs in the carpark biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif .

I'm oriental guyz so you should find it easy to locate me/us. Knowing my luck, there'll be shit loads of chinks there LOL.

Laterz,

Van

No offence intended to any chinese/orientals ...including myself. LOL

Oh you kill me Van, if you can take the

P??ss out of yourself your a true Zed man.

See ya Jeff TT

Van300 well I'm Italian, so it will be an International meeting!!!!!! eh ehhe

Well I'm still not sure if I can make it though...mmm shall I wash my Z before coming?... smile.gif

BTW Cos if i come from Ashbourn Road(from the center of Derby) at the Markeaton-Roundabout I'll have to go all around ending up with Markeaton Park to my left and take that exit.. I think that's the one towards the University... then there is a left going UP (I think this is the sliproad).. here to the left there is the UNI... so I go right instead and then 1st left towards the small roundabout...

I'm saying this because I think that when you get to the Markeaton Roundabout(where McDonnald is), The Road for Belper should be the one opposite to the road for the UNI, tha's where I get confused with your road-direction. I think the Road towards Belper is different from the one going to the UNI... Bho?

Jeff & anyone else,

The easiest way to The Broadway pub is....

from the A38 head towards Derby.

Go straight on at Markeaton roundabout ( Just pass McDonalds)

Take the second exit left ( first left is for Uni) onto rounabout for A6.

At this roundabout take fourth turn off (5 way roundabout) for the A6 Derby.

The Broadway pub is by the first roundabout you come to on your left.

ManicTT,

from Asbourne Road head towards Markeaton roundabout and take the right turn-A38 and follow directions above:-)

Anyone else???? biggrin.gif

Van

PS Jeff, sorry m8 but I can't stand mobiles hence can't give you a no. But if you follow the directions above you WON'T get lost....as long as you can read m8 biggrin.gif .

ManicTT - As far as I can tell, your directions are spot on but I get confused at the......

I think that's the one towards the University... then there is a left going UP (I think this is the sliproad)

.....part.

Just bare with me and tell me if it is exactly how you have said it.

From Ashbourne road coming from City Centre, turn right at the roundabout(3rd exit hence A38). Take first exit which is the one that takes you up towards the shitty Uni(Was a student there once so I know). At the top of the slip road turn right, then first left and you know the rest.

Van's way is good too but a bit longer if you are coming from the south.

yes Cos, I think we are saying the same thing..COOL!!!

Sadly I won't know until tomorrow if I'll eb abel to make it... but if so I'll be there around 2pm.... Is there enough car park space for all of us?

Well, so far I think with you there is only going to be 4 of us so should be ok....

....Unless Van knows of any better(safer pubs).

Van?

Hi fellaz,

I think there should be plenty of parking spaces. If there isn't or if we don't like it we'll go somewhere else....no problem is unsolvable.

The area is pretty safe so don't worry. Oh......have I mentioned that I'm a blackbelt in Taekwon-Do and being oriental as well people don't tend to mess with me or my car biggrin.gif .

Z U tomorrow,

Van

Ohhhhh bummer ... I was looking forward to making an appearance as well but have just been informed (via CNN - kidding) that the mother-in-law is coming 'round for a spot of Sunday lunch and car hunting ... She's just had to write-off her Nissan Micra (something about a multi-story carpark and a strategically positioned column I think ...) and now she wants .... a freaking Ford KA! For the money she's willing to spend on that heap of s**t she could be getting a Zed (he he he!) Can't see her do that though - unless Nissan made a wide-body version ... Oh dear I'm in trouble now wink.gif

Anyway, perhaps next time I'll make it ... or we can organize a B'ham meet ... enjoy your get-together!

Would have been quite an international meeting as I'm Dutch with an oriental background.

Cheers GuyZ!

Danny

Pst - there are now enough confusing directions in this thread to really get lost! Hope you've got Sat-Nav installed!

Hay WING CHUN GUNG FU,I run a full time club in Derby called the OPEN FEATHERS COMBAT STUDIO, based in Normanton,i have been practising Wing chun for some 25 years and have been teaching for some 17 years.I wonder if you may be one of Gavins boys thoughj i have heard he has closed down now becourse of a argument with Randi Williams.Any way my club is a fully firnished studio which include 3 wooden men (mock yang jong) and the modern punch man called Bob,the studio is fully mirrored.

If i had known you were into Martial arts i would have invited you to the Rick Young semina which was held at my studio last week but he comes every 3 monthes to teach JKD he is a student of Dan Inisanto,as i have been for the last 10 years along with Larry Hartsel.I am going up to Scotland in to weeks to train with Danny.

I also hold a forth dan,two first dans aswell as my sixth degree in wing chun gung fu knowing three systems (foshan, pofailin, and a hong kong method).

Please feel free to call in,we are in the middle of relocation and are moving to behind st Thomas rd service station but this will be compleate in two weeks. If i am working away on a minding job i have two instructors who will help you,we are nice guys we only eat those who piss us off(ha ha).

Sorry you guys for rambaling on but wing chun its my life, anyway you know where to find me now if you have any issuse you may want to take up with me (ha ha! joke)

thanks Charlie, I have sent a reply to your e-mail!! smile.gif

My fucking car broke down, suprise fucking suprise!!!

Hi fellaz,

Yes, Jeff, Cos and I made it to the meeting. Jeff & Cos took pixs and will probably post them on the forum. It's a shame Danny, ManicTT and Charlie couldn't make it.

I feel really bad now that I've seen Jeff's CLEAN engine. Shit... It made feel like a lazy slob LOL. I'm amazed at what you can achieve with a tooth brush and carb. cleaner, Jeff.

All in all the meeting was very refreshing. Cos & Jeff are good blokes and Cos's missus is really quite understanding (women often don't have time for cars)...I think she only yawned once LOL.

If anyone wants their engine bay cleaning try persuading/coaxing/blackmailing/forcing Jeff. He's the man for the job as far as I'm concerned......but me first Jeff biggrin.gif

Charlie, it's a bloody shame about your car m8. I hope it's not serious. It's nice to see people are still doing martial arts........they are less likely to fight 'cause they feel they don't have anything to prove. Keep teaching Charlie. I'm sure you're doing a good job. One question though, since you are body building does it slow you down? One thing I've been quite wary of hence I don't go to the gym.....or is it 'cause I'm too idle?????? biggrin.gif

Anyhow, It would seem that there are quite a few of us in/close to Derby. Perhaps we should arrange another meeting later on this month (hopefully Charlie's car will be fixed and it's not a case of Mr. Timmy Turbo Z special SE)

Laterz,

Van
