Along time ago in a newsagents far far away there was a magazine born called max power. Anyone who remembers the early days when it was actually quite good ( even vikki butler henderson used to write for it) they used to do proper testing of bits of kit.

One test which springs to mind was one for exhausts, as is usual with such tests alot of different manufacturers supplied an exhaust for the test car and they we all tested on the dyno. All the usual suspects were there, peco, mongoose, scorpion, jetex, janspeed etc... except one.

 

The one that was missing was called supersprint, it just so happens that their exhaust cost nearly twice as much as the other exhausts on test so the max power lot were keen to see if itwas worth the wedge, however the response that came back from supersprint was something along the lines of , our exhaust is the best and we dont need to prove it. I think you can guess where this is going.

 

Today I must say I was discusted with the ' is it faster ' thread and the way it degenerated at the end.

 

All that came from 300 owners was 'a la supersprint', our car is better, we dont need to prove it, followed by 'go away and die'.. hmmm very poor in my opinion.

How many people who read that piece do you think actually still bought a supersprint, i didnt, I went for a mongoose as it gave the highest bhp gain and got the best overall review.

 

Before people start kicking off, remember i have a 300zx and I was only out in it on Sunday giving it a blast, thinking how wonderful it was... however its about time people started putting there money where their mouth is and started to show people how great this car is so people actually see how good they are and want to buy one, we want people to continue to buy them otherwise they will continue to be worth jack shit.

 

Again before people moan, I too have been to the pod and flown the 300zx flag, I might have been shit, but I was there, my best was 14.5 but that was before a significant boost hike and plus I still have the cats in which wont help much plus i have both leccy passenger and drivers seats , alot of zeds ive seen only have leccy drivers, and its an auto. Anyway enough of the excuses, Ive not been back to the pod running the boost I am now but I would guestimate that I would be the right side of 14 seconds. 2 trips to the pod with shit weather have so far thwarted my chance to beat it and I wont be going back down there in it again due to me having it up for sale.

 

What happened today was crap, its certainly opened my eyes, Steve-O WFT is going on? why quit over something as daft as that? very childish in my opinion from someone who didnt offer anything constructive in the whole arguement just ' 300s are better so there'

Ban AdamR? are you having a laugh??? get a big grip, who do you think you are calling for the ban of a fully paid up fellow member who has been here alot longer and contributed alot more to this forum than you have? go outside and have a word with yourself!!! this place has lost enough good members over the past year or two, the fact that they still stick around here after selling their 300's and post from time to time is testament to how great this place is and calling for their heads is just defies belief!

FFS next i bet youll be complaining that theres non 300 cars going on the rolling road day at thor, regardless of the fact that one of them still owns a 300 and both are paid up members!

 

So come on then, its time to put up, whos up for a day at the pod before the weather starts getting shit, get the 300zx's off the axle stands, get the 3000 gto boys to put their chestwigs on, get the mr2 owners out of the hairdressers, and if i can catch one or two i'll try to get a couple of GT4's ( you know how hard it will be as you know how rare, beautiful and fast they are! ;) ) maybe all get down to the pod and just maybe, just maybe have a little respect for each other and you never know maybe even a good day out.

 

Just get your cars out there and show people how good they are!!!

First of all as for banning subscribed members It does not matter if they are paid up or registed. We all like a laugh and most of us enjoy a little banter but as for passing around a log on and password on another car forum to come on here and try to upset people is just not cricket IMHO!

FFS i tried it on the Supra forum but got banned before getting a single post out, I know some on here have been more successful on both Supra forums and GTO forums, what about Big roy another ex owner who comes on here an regularly tells us how much better supras are, but we dont take offence.... so why so in this case?

have you ever thought there might be slightly more to this forum than just 300's? its a fun place to be, I for one have made a few good friends on here, dont get it confused with other forums which are just purely car orientated and hence pretty damn boring, thats what sets this forum appart.

I agree with you scoops that that there is a lot of *****x taked from 300zx drivers about how fast their car is and yet how many show up to the pod ?? not many - luckily there are a few cars being built at the moment which should start setting some standards - we all know who they are :bow:

 

now i'm a newbie round here because i've only been around for a year or so but it seems like there are more people recently willing to mod their zed and push the limits which is a good thing. I think the more people willing to test things the more cost effective ways we are going to find to get a quick zed.

 

It doesnt help that there are loads of zeds out there that are going for almost no money - the cheaper the car the less maintenance is going to get done on it. If you cant rely on the car getting to tesco and back you certainly arent going to send it down the pod.

 

HOWEVER - i read that thread from start to finish and it was getting nasty - and i'm sure AdamR when he was on this board slagged off the "attitude" of trolls from other boards so to go and do it about us does smack of hypocrisy.

 

It all comes down to enjoying your car - drive it and enjoy it whether it be going to tescos at 30mph i.e. me or hairing down the pod at 180 i.e. mac or just trying to pull anything in a skirt in it i.e. Chris :tongue: stand up for your choice but allow others theirs.

I'm with Roy on this.........(the only reply I've read in it's fullness as you other guys type to much...LMAO!) but we all love our cars, spend to much time and money on them and REALLY enjoy them (not in the same was as Mac, as pointed out by Roy!)

 

Just cause I don't rag my Z up and down pod every other month doesn't mean my Z isn't fast or can't whoop ass........I choose not to blow it up quicker than it's already destined to at some point......MAYBE once the engine has been pulled and I've replaced all the internals and had new tubby's I'll consider a couple of days out at pod and might even run but for now I'll stick to fighting my corner on these boards and telling everyone how much I love my car, how fast it is, how MUCH faster it is than theirs (unless proven otherwise!) and what a terrific bunch of people there are on here......

 

..........oh and the fact I picked it up for £3,000!!.........did I already mention that?

 

I'll attend meets as and when I can, not just cause some GTSlow wants to take on my Z (as if.....:D) or someone says I should as it's letting the board down, I've been to a few but I've missed maybe 10 times that, can't get to them all as with eveyone else on here I have a life away from my lonely life on here as a 10th dan Keyboard Ninja...

 

And finally, when I do change the internals I'll only replace like for like, I won't be going bigger, faster, nastier I'll just be going bullet proof.......I hope! ;) and that's just the way I like it.

Can't bothered to read all the other thread as it just seems to degenerate to a slanging match.

I've run against a MR2 with basic mods, he was slightly quicker off the mark, even though neither of us got a good start (playing with tyre pressures). I got a 13.6 and he got a 13.9 I think.

So will gladly join a session at the pod.

 

I also think stock for stock, the MR2 will win, just plain physics at the end of the day...

I have stayed well clear of all this. But, there is another benefit to guys building fast cars and taking them to the pod/ TOTB.

 

If a zed is seen to put in a fair show at either of the above, then someone in the crowd may well look into buying a zed instead of a scooby/skylark or MR2. Whether threu personal choice, economics or whatever. So if zeds feature regularly, and do well they may well become an option in the minds of the next generation of modders. More demand = better prices.

TBH I think most ppl where trying to keep it to a 'banter & all in good fun level' and the MR2 login posted on the MR2 board caused the post to degenerate to an abusive level.

 

Posting a generic login & password on the MR2 board was the cause of all the upset. And those who used the login, abused the 300zx board. That was ridiculous. And ridiculous that MR2 board moderators allowed it. Very childish. :nono:
