Just playing with the conzult and was wondering what the ideal voltage readings for the o2 sensors should be on idle . what is the spec range and how much fluctuation is there from sensor to sensor.

mine has 0.32v and 0.56v and one has a erratic on off signal.

Featured Replies

if the o2 sensor(s) signal is static and stays hanging at around 0.3 volt then that sensor is dead or it's disconnected.

if the o2 sensor voltage is very low at idle then there might be a vacuum leak in the system.

if the o2 sensor stays at approx. 0.8 volt at idle there might be something wrong with the timing/PTU/coilpacks/plugs/injectors.

if the o2 sensor is above 1 volt, it's dead and needs to be replaced asap...best is to disconnect it until it's been replaced.

common rule:

The more lively the signal is, the better the state the sensor is in and it's working as it's supposed to.

, one of the sensors is more lively than the other and they ramp up with rpm, I was wondering if it was essential to have both sensors with equal voltages

but I suppose thats in an ideal world and depends on the cyl condition as well as poss air leaks.

No, exactly equal voltages is not important, what matters is that they are both changing from low-high and vice versa at roughly the same speed.

Hold the throttle a 2k rpm and they should both flux between .3 and .7

As mentioned above if they stick then one is fooked or might be gunked up. When the car is warm try another reading also to see what you get.
