Hi Pete,

Have managed to get the kit fitted but it was a right nightmare.

Firstly, the battery terminal was marked up as a positive so when I went to put it on the negative terminal, it was too big!! I had to go out and buy a normal style battery negative terminal from halfords as I had already cut my negative so I had to walk!!! :( :nono:

Then, the shortest lead diddnt reach your reccomended point on the engine so I have had to reroute this elsewhere, not a huge problem but I thought it was a custom fit!!??

;)

Hi Pete,

I sent you a pm about the clamp being too big about a month ago, which you said affected imports due to the pole size and offered me a couple of solutions. I still haven't got round to this yet, but having seen Mark's post, and checked my clamp which also is "positive", is this the reason it is too large? Do you do a negative terminal clamp of a smaller dimension to fit, or will I have to follow Mark's example, with a trip to Halfords?

Appreciate your comments,

Simon.

Lads ;)

Yep I know the first ever batch went out with positives for the Thor group buy, however they are the same size and the only difference is the stamp. I'll happily exchange for a negative if you like, sorry for the hassle.

The shortest lead should be 18" long, did you check the instructions as to where to fit it as I've never heard this before? You've not got something eg an alarm in the way have you?

I have ordered some "battery post collars" to include with the kits as a few people have had the problem with their terminal being too small. If you wish to buy these in the meantime they will sort out the terminal issue.

Please let me know if you need any help.

Cheers

Pete

For the post collars? Dont know sorry - I meant if you want to buy them from another place til I get them in it will sort the problem. They will be free will the grounding kit when I get them.

pete well pleased with the grounding kit only prob is the opposite to everyone else my battery terminal is cone shaped so does not completly go on the terminal! not a big prob just want to know what way is curable ;)

greg

Where did you order your's from? I haven't been able to find anywhere.

Simon.

Pete,

Will get a piccy up when I get chance to show u what I mean. I thought perhaps my battery was the wrong way round but then the posi terminal wouldnt fit if that was the case?!?

I am going to use the posi terminal to rewire my posi cabling anyway but I could do with a negative one too, make it look all good! :)

Can I get one from you? Also, if I put the posi terminal u supplied over my + terminal on my battery, its still slightly, and I mean slightly too big, can u also supply me with your workaround?

I'll be hapyp to pay of course! :)

I bought a pair of terminals from Maplin a few weeks ago to do my own earth kit and they are both too small for my Bosch battery.

I've had this before on other cars so I can only assume there is no standard size for battery terminals.

I'll have to file a tiny amount off the battery post I think.

Yeah Chris, there are a few different diameters I think, bloody annoying. The vast majority are fine with the terminals I supply (US Blaster type...) but you'd think they'd all be the same wouldn't you.

Its never a problem with the stock clamps because you can tighten and loosen them much more.

Pete, I actually found that my standard + OEM clamp was too big too!! Not good!!

Yeah, lots. Hard to explain, just feels different, ''better'' i s'pose!

Gotta be the cheapest improvement i've ever done! :)
