Since having my cam covers off and removing/refitting the temp sensors on the top water pipe I've been having problems.

The electric fan seems to come on as soon as the car has warmed up. I can then park up, wiggle the connector (the yellow block) and the fan seems to switch between off/low/high speeds. If I then switch off for an hour or two and restart the engine, the electric comes back on immediately. My after market temp gauge is only showing about 85 degrees when at full temp and it doesn't have to be a warm day...

I have stripped back the tape on the wiring and exposed the sender as much as I dare and all looks fine.

Can the sender itself develop a fault or is this more likely to be an electrical connection? If electrical, can anyone recommend a good way of repairing it? Or is it just a case of buy a new sender?

CheerZ for any help!

Sounds like an electrical connection thing to me, but the senders are dead cheap, and considering their importance to the correct running of the car I'd just buy another (+ the loom)
