On offer to anyone in the area that wants to use it. However if there is anyone in the area that know how to use it I would welcome a lesson. I have had a look and even with the instructions and a service manual I'm not sure what I'm doing.

I have a problem at the moment and if I can identify what it is I can get it done at the same time as the cambelt service that is due.

Cheers,

David.

Hi David,

I don't need the use of Conzult right now, but *might* be able to help with whatever problem you're experiencing.

Whereabout in Ipswich are you?

Simon.

Hi Simon,

Long time no hear. You changed my aircon compressor if you remember. I've moved to Ravenswood now, the old Ipswich Airport. Are you still in Warren Heath and at BT? Not seen your car around, is it running now.

The problem seems only to be obvious on a long run. The car will suddenly sound like it is not running on all cylinders and if you press the gas nothing happens then it will start accelerating again.

I was hoping the Conzult might pin point a problem.

Cheers,

David

Hmmm, sounds like a possible PTU prob to me. I have a ConZult and I'm not that far away ...

Hi David,

I was wondering if this could be you, I hope the aircon is still 100%!

I don't live in Martlesham anymore, I live with Katy and our little 2 weeks old baby boy Harvey, quite close to the town centre.

The car is in much better condition than when you saw it last, its had a full respray and body kit fit, so looks much better.

Like AndyP said, could be PTU. I have a spare working one which you could try. Failing that I'd reckon on injector connectors. If you do a search, you find these have come up several times in the past - all with the same complaint - lots of green corrosion on the pins.

Regards

Simon.

Left hand connector on the PTU ;) 99% of the time anyway :D

Thanks guys. I have just taken off the PTU and cleaned the connections, one side, right as you face it was nice and shiney but the other was dull but no corrosion. Anyway, I'll test it and post back.

Simon, if it is still the same I'll take you up on the offer to borrow your spare.

Andy, where in Essex are you as I wouldn't mind a Conzult lesson at some point if you are willing.

Thanks,

David

Near Great Dunmow. I also have a spare PTU should you want to try it out.

Andy, I know that, its on the way to Stanstead (my favourite journey). When could you spare some time to do a quick demo?

Cheers,

David

Tell me when you're next around and I'll see what I can do. Evenings are usually OK, weekends will be a bit hit 'n' miss.

  • 1 month later...

Andy, are you around one evening this week? The car goes in for a cam-belt service next week and if there is anything seriously wrong they can do that at the same time.

Cheers,

David
