Hi-

please can someone clarify- T25s are std on zeds? if so, I read somewhere that T28s are almost identical and are std fit on 200sx.

Does this mean they can be fitted to a Z? (Allowing for the fact the Z's have slight differences from left to right/ wastegate actuator fitting etc and 2 X 200sx tubs would be the same and need some slight modifying to fit)

Is it possible? Worth the trouble? Any advantage over std?

Thanks

Leonard

Hi Leonard,

the terms T25 and T28 are quite generic you can get different flavors of both and all colours of hybrids in between.

I think the stock turbo is a TB22 which is a T25 which is probably rated at aprox 200 ps. The TB28028 which is the big turbo that SE use is probably rated at approx 340 ps the stock T28 listing for the S14 is at 300 ps.

The easiest way to rate the power a turbo can deliver is to get the cfm rating which will tell you how much air the turbo can flow. However this does not anwer questions such as lag and response.

does this help?

Hi alex,

thanks for this, it helps clarify a bit better for me.

I was thinking that i could possibly swap mine out for T28's/ 200sx's- (on the offchance that I get them at a good price)

I started my zed last week and I was getting blue smoke, and certainly the smell of burning oil in the exhaust so I began thinking about new turbos. I've just run it for 30 mins and no evidence of oil in the exhaust at all. perhaps it's the PCV.

Cheers

Leonard

fingers crossed - turbo replacemnet can be expensive ;)

Too right mate, I hope I need to but I just wondered if i could put 200sx t28's straight on.

I'll soon find out if my current ones are suspect. I've got a pair of s/s split down pipes and decat pipes to fit. Hopefully the seals will hold.

oooo decatting an exhaust with suspect turbos  living life dangerously

alex

The T28's I have are originally from SE Nissan and I had to get a fitting kit from them.

Theres quite a few other mounting parts you need to change.

Worth doing though ;)
