New boost gauge (any recommendations)

I think my stock boost gauge is just about A.holed and I want to get a new more accurate one. What do you guys (and Ajay of course!!LOL) recommend as there seems to be a lot of choice. What is it like fitting one of these?. Could someone like me (without a brain!!) be able to install one. Any help would be greatfully recieved Zed brothers and sister.

Yeah, I need one too. Saw a couple at about £59 & £69 for 50mm & 65mm (I think) but they had poxy white dials. Also need somewhere to fit it. Didn't like the A-Pillar bracket much, a moulding would be better (I actually have a LHD Pillar moulding if anyone is in need - Eric ??)

I've got an SPA digital boost gauge - although not fitted to the Z yet... Very cool.. Tad pricey at £150ish though, and not easy to fit, since you need to attach a T off the boost hose to the sender unit, which is 1/8BSP threaded not nippled.. So you need an adaptor, then just run the wiring..

OK it's no big deal *really*... And very accurate, dual gauge (boost & temp, comes with both senders), with peak recall & warning lamp..

The summit racing gauges are around $30, plus the postage AND a seperate packaging fee, (could double the price!).

The one I bought a few weeks back I don't like, I'm probably going to order another one from the same place.

Thanks for the replies guys. I think I will give Johnny a ring at GPS and get some more info. As you have said Andy once you buy it where do you position it in the car. I'm off to get some prices.

Seez ya!

Wasn't Smithy sorting out some A-pillar gauge holders??? SMITHY mate, what's happening with that???

Tim,

Think Smithy (Enterprises Inc) was looking at multi-pod A-Pillar holders and I only need one because I don't want it to look like the flight deck of Concorde !

AndyP,

At the time I thought it was a good idea to have no neg pressure as you see a really big scale to follow the boost... Also the only gauge over 20psi was a 30psi liquid filled one....

I would buy he 20psi one which is great for stock turbos, but not sure what boost I will be running once I fit my new turbos.... Probably just over 20psi???

If I ever get them fitted!!! frown.gif
