Sounds like total bo*****s to me!

Yeah, so it's got a JWT chip, but that, on its own, wont give another 100 bhp!! And De-Limited, is only the Jap 112mph limiter re-chipped (same thing), again, it wont give another 100 bhp!

But I do agree with Pete, if it has got 400bhp, then 180 mph is probably about right.............. but I'd say the add is still bol****s :D

I've got an auto, I'm running 16psi, stock tubbies and internals, SE chip, Induction, Straight through zorst from downpipe to back,

I've seen 176 on it and it still had a 'little' more to go (was pulling very slowly at this point) speedo could have been out, due to rims and such.

What you all going on about i have done 180 a few times and still had more the zed is made for speed you just have to push it

The 300ZX speedo is not at all accurate over 80 mph though. At 70mph on the clock you are doing 70, at 80 you are probably doing 78. By the time the clock says 100 you are doing just over 90. So by the time the clock says 180 I bet you are doing less than 170.

I guessed when my speedo said 176 It was more like 168 or there abouts, but who can tell? I might just disconnect mine on the way to billing,

"Can you tell me what speed you were doing sir?"

"Uh no, my speedo stopped working on the way here, see for yourself!, I just assumed my sensible friends in the other Z's were doing the limit?"

lol

Red Farrari Modena. Black Beat up Zed

A130

3am

Zed stayed on its ass all the way baby.

180 possible? Yea no sweat.

AIR-CON WORKING UNLIKE MOST OF THE OTHER 300ZX'S YOU'LL SEE

WTF>? That's one of the more reliable things on the Z isnt it lol. Never seen one not working!

Nice one Dev :)

Or because all the sensible Z owners have chucked it in the bin

The speedo is more accurate than you might think, my road angel gives the exact speed continuously by satnav and ive got 18 inch rims. aint taken it to 180 but 120 is still perfect

Lol, did you see the bit on

"like driving a rocket push the turbo button and feel the speed or even without the turbo on!!! "

lol he has the special edition three and a half litre 300 Z that nissan kept secret all these years....

me smells dealer trying to look like a private seller, cos surely no one that loved & owned a Z would come out with bull like that?

One of the ones I checked out before buying mine hadnt had the speedo converted but had white dials installed saying MPH, owner was convinced he we were doing MPH when in fact we were doing KPH, car was such a bag of bolts it kinda felt like it! (noisy, rattling etc) I didnt have the heart to tell him...... just walked away! :D

Slight change of subject- what's the max speed of a derestricted, but otherwise stock, Z? :D

I think it's all down to age ane wear and tear of the components. Speedos on a many Japanese cars (that's manufacturers, not imports) are much more accurate than Fords and Vauxhalls (how many Calibra 8v owners have seen 145 - they only do 126 and the speedo goes off the clock at that! ) when new.

mine is accurate to 100 but I've not used GPS at speeds over that.....

Seen just under 160 on the clock, though.

Richard :)

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

ive just bought a uk tt. someone said they were restricted to 155 but if you derestrict it they would do 180! is it not like derestricting the jap to do over 112?
